A/F ratio question on X-Flash PLEASE HELP!!

Hey Vishnu I have a question. I had my car X-flashed by you about a year ago, and when you were done I had a A/F ration of about 10:1. Safe....not great but safe.

Since then I have only added a better intake, and a manual boost controller and that was just about 3 weeks ago. I just had it dynoed and my A/F ratio is now an ungodly 13:1. How can an intake and boost controller drop my a/f by 3? THat is crazy.

Is there a way to either fix this or have it flashed back to stock??

I know a SAFC will help, but I don't want to add fuel. I want the ability to take it away.

Please let me know what it will take to fix this. SHould I have it sent back to you guys to just have it flashed back to stock???

Take the intake back off. Shiv tunes for the stock intake only. Any aftermarket intakes need a custom tune as the maf signal can change drastically.

Intakes provide marginal gains if your using stock MAF, I would just stick with a k&n drop filter.

I had the crappy K&N intake when he did it. So are you saying that a different intake can change it 3 points on the A/F ratio???? Some peple say that there should be no way it would change it that much. Would the SAFC help me out with that. Or should I have it flashed back to stock. I do not want that K&N intake back in there. it was horrible.

NO stay away from the K&N intake just get the K&N drop in filter for your stock intake.

If you added a boost controller and presumably upped your boost .....that is why your AFR is deadly lean.

My flash consisted of a K&N intake, TBE and no boost controller. Shiv put in that little boost pill. I changed to the HKS intake, and a Hallman MBC, but I actually decreased the boost by 1 PSI. It was at 22-23psi. I know have it at about 21-22psi.

I should just flash it back to stock. Then just use an AFC to contol it.

Anyone know how much to flash it back to stock???

To go from a 10:1 a/f to a 13:1 a/f, you would need to increase the amount of air through the engine by 30%, and NOT have the MAF pick up any of it......

I doubt it was the mod's, I'd question the a/f reading with your more recent dyno. Do you have a means for checking EGT's? At 13:1, your EGT's should be sky high, even on a quick dyno pull.

I don't have a EGT guage, and at the dyno they did not have a reading tool....or at least that I was aware of. we stopped dynoing after the firts pull....since it was so lean.

The started to do a second pull, but it followed the same line as the first pull, so they got off of it.

I would agree with these guys. Switch back to the factory air box, and see what happens to your AFR. If it is still unreasonably high, the wideband on their dyno might be off.

If it is still high can I just have it reflashed back to stock by mail in? I want it running correctly, even if I have to flash it back to stock. Please let me know what it cost just to flash it back to stock.
