Yeah the variable cam stuff is nothing too new, but the variable turbine geometry they talk about sounds pretty bad ***.

One of Shiv's good friends, Jay is an engineer at garrett. He was telling me a few years back about this stuff, since that is what his primary focus is on. Its absolutely incredible, and equally expensive.

So are you basically telling us, we shouldn't get excited about this?

Variable vane technology has been around for a little while. I can't wait to see it hit the market for everyday use.

Hell, it seems like the reverse wheels on the Mitsu turbos are hard enough for turbo shops to hack already. I sure hope Mitsu uses non reverse turbos by the time they start using variable vane.

Chrysler had a variation on this in the late 80's , believe they called it VNT used it on a few 2.2L/2.5L turbo motors.... nothing but turbocharger failure for chrysler..... but was a little bit different design.

Kind of a neat idea, that turbo charger works much like modern day jet engines.
