Question about XEDE features

Whats the differences between the XEDE and the SMART XEDE.
Will i be able to datalog with the XEDE or do i need SMART
Will a PLX R-500 Wideband work with the XEDE or do i need a LC-1
Can the XEDE accept inputs from sensors say a EGT reading from the PLX R-500

do a search on SMART there is alot of useful info on it.

Smart can only use the LC1

The Xede has analog inputs that can accept an input in the range of 0 to 5 volts for the purpose of logging. Normally two of these inputs are used by the SMART system (knock buffer and LC-1 wideband). Thus if the EGT output is in the range of 0-5 volts you could hook it up with zero issues and log that in relationship to RPM, etc.

You can datalog the PLX's output, assuming the output is in the 0-5 volt range. That said the SMART maps are only calibrated for the LC-1. Technically you could build your own maps for the PLX, but I would suggest that you will need to invest a great deal of your own time to accomplish the effort.

yeah, ditto. The Xede can accept 3 analog inputs, 0-5v. You can do whatever you want with any of them. However, the LC-1 is the only wideband that is supported and recommended for tuning. If you have the PLX, you can invest lots of time and energy in setting it up to work (assuming it has a 0-5v analog output), and in the end you might just catch your car on fire and it will explode.

Or, you can just sell the PLX, buy an LC-1, and all the work is done

But for the other analog inputs, you can hookup anything that sends out a 0-5v signal and datalog it through the Xede.

I think the Xede needs more inputs.. with people hooking up EGTs, MAPs, Knock, AFR, Water Temp, Rain sensor, man we could datalog and setup SMART maps for everything! what if you setup a smart map to lower your boost if it was raining. HAH

We need an "Auxbox" for the XEDE.

Or better yet, the ability to output the XEDE data into the Innovate Auxbox.
