from what ive seen the 9 is making a lot more low-end torque.

I wish I could get my powerband to shift up a little bit though, seems like a lot of the 9's grunt is at the lowend

I haven't seen anything yet. I've searched here and over at nasioc and I've come up with nothing to show. I wish I could find something.

wow, thats pretty impressive..

I was very impressed by the power of a totally stock Lancer evo. I can only imagine one with 330whp.

the evos tend to make way more hp but the stis own in torque b/c of the 2.5 l i was talking to the guys down at cobb and their stock 2005 evos made 227 whp and 248 lb ft on a mustang dyno at 5000 ft while stock stis made only 215whp and 232 lb ft on the same dyno. with tbe and flash the evo viii was at like 282whp and 260 lb ft of torque while the sti had like 30 less whp but 30 more lb ft of torque with same mods. i hope this helps

Now days is difficult to find a couple of Evo and STI owners that actually dynoed their cars bone stock and from the same dyno.
Since I am a guy that knows a lot of STI and Evo owners and I happen go to a local dyno often here is just a couple of friends numbers:

04 STI bone stock from Kristiensen 18k miles 229 whp/239tq average of 3 dynos
05 Evo 8 MR from Eddy 11k miles 217whp/250tq

Both cars tested within 6 weeks on the same dyno at IAperformance. I don't have the dynos with me but can get them if needed.

I was at the Houston Dyno Day last weekend at Engine Logics and managed to get my car on the DD dyno after Shiv finished tuning all of the EVO's. I have a stock 06 STI with about 2,200 miles on the odometer.

Dyno Chart is in this thread post # 280: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...&page=19&pp=15

I'm sorry but those numbers just seem awfully high for a stock STI. I mean that's just unheard of for an STi/STI, even one's with bolt ons and no tune would have a hard time matching that. It's one thing to dyno high, it's another to back it up with some 1/4 mile traps, I know the STI has to shift 5 times, so I'd expect a 104mph trap speed with that high of a dyno.

I'm just as skeptical as you are, but you can ask Cajun Power (317HP on pump) and Resonance (284HP) who were there when my car was put on the exact same dyno and same day their cars were put on the dyno. When Resonance, on the v390 basemap, and I ran our cars several times from a 2nd gear roll up to the top of my 4th gear (100mph) , I'm right behind him (less than a car length). It isn't until I go into 5th gear that he really starts to put car lengths on me.

It would be nice to see the dyno numbers on the same graph from the same dyno to see how they match up at different points in the RPM. For example, to see how they compare at 2500rpm and how they compare at 5000rpm.

That STI pulls a lot higher up in the RPM range than I've ever seen for stock. It doesn't seem to put out the torque as early in the powerband either. Hmm.

My STI was dyno'd with the hood closed, so I'm wondering if the air guides for the TMIC in the hood scoop would make a difference on the top end power. I'm planning on having my car dyno'd again in Nov or Dec after a friend of mine finishes installing a VF39 (STI turbo) on his 06 WRX. We are going to try to get 4 or 5 STI's together for a little mini dyno day so we can compare all of our numbers together. Once we have a date set I'll post up on evom in case any EVO's in the Houston area want to meet up and hang out.

That will be good for comparison to your graph.

It looks like you don't get full boost until 4200 rpms? That's horrible, i thought STI's had better low end torque than Evos, you are spooling 1000 rpms later, and at much less boost to boot.

How many RPM's does it usually take for a turbo to spool up assuming you are already at an RPM where it would make boost? I noticed the dyno didn't start until around 2,800 rpms so maybe that might have effected the beginning of the dyno graph.
