Nice seeing again and meeting you guys today.
My suspicions were correct the gasohol crap we get costs 7% in power a 21 whp loss. Shiv was able to bring back the power within 2% of my last tune and a nice increase in TQ with his new updated x-flash.
My conclusion is that 10% ethonol gas plainly suxors, the new sunoco 104 also contains 10% ethanol is not like it used to be. 104 = 319whp, 110 leaded tune=337whp...

Adam, I came in and did your cams for John @ Dyno. Nice car. Took me about 45 minutes to do the cams and gears. Hope they treated ya right and put everything together properly back under the hood. I had noticed you driving around in town but didnt know who you were. How did the tune work out for you?

Jorge,

how'd you/Shiv get the power back? Timing? Fuel? Boost? A combo of all three? Just curious, because my car seems to be weaker since we swapped to the gasohol also. Anyone car to share dyno numbers? It would be nice to know/see how the different setups came out.

Sorry I couldn't make it, still working out all the bugs from a 50 trim install, and I just wasn't ready. Hope the event went well, Engine Logics has a good setup for dyno days. But it isn't called the heartbreak dyno for no reason, it's tuff to put up a big number on that animal.

Shiv got the power back by a combo off all 3 plus his new updated Xede/flash which gives a substancial TQ increase (20wtq).

I have pictures of some of the dyno's from the event. If the owners don't mind I can post the dyno's in this thread. Three of the Stage1+ EVO's put down b/w 281 to 286HP. After Shiv left to catch his flight I managed to get my car on the dyno to compare with the other cars that had been dyno'd that day.

Also feel free to PM me if you would like me to email you the pictures of the dyno sheets (for those without access to scanners or digital cameras or who are prone to losing sheets of paper). I didn't have time to copy all of the movies files from my sisters camera because her PC is old and doesn't have USB 2.0. Cajun Power was sitting in a parking lot off of I-10 so I was nice and didn't make him wait for another 30 minutes while the movie files copied over. I'll get them the next I head over to my sisters. The movies came out pretty good though; 640x480 30fps.

Here's my Dyno Chart: Stock 06 STI

Good job Luke. Thank you for strapping everyone down all day. Guess that's one way to work off dyno time

Not a problem... I love learning new stuff when I can and getting to see everyones dyno's and what mods the different cars had. The next time they have a dyno day in Houston I'll probably go again just to help out and learn more stuff.

Shiv had to leave to catch his flight so I ended up paying for the Dyno since Chris had to run the dyno for me, but I was just happy to get my car dyno'd on the same day so I had a good comparison with all the other cars that were dyno'd the same day.

I tried to email some of the pictures last night night but evidently my ISP limits the size of an email I can send so I may just have to email the pictures one at time. (Each picture is about 1.5mb... sister's darn 6MP camera... lol)

Dyno day

By the way, how did Gonzalo do? I had to leave a bit early and did not get to see how he faired. When I left, his car had boost issues. I hope things got resolved. I will try to scan my dyno sheet and post it here. As always, I was expecting a bit more power, but I am happy with the way to car drives. Thanks to Shaheen for organizing and to Shiv for taking care of us.

If I heard/remember correctly Gonzalo's turbo didn't have a waste gate so Shiv wasn't able to get much more than 240 HP out of his setup. I think his boost was maxing out at 18PSI or something like that.

Thanks are in order for Shaheen (QAT-R) for getting the dynoday organized. Its not an easy task to line up Vishnu, a dyno location and all the people who want to participate. Thanks for taking the inititative to set that up for all of us!

Shiv did a great job setting up all the cars as usual and taking us all for his patented test drive afterwards. This test drive wasn't as good though, not enough corners! I'm sure the people in the houses around there were not to happy with him either .

Also, I must say the location we were at was Engine Logics, and it seemed to be a top notch engine and tuning shop. Chris the owner was very helpful and even gave a few us a tour of his setup there, and I must say I was very impressed. If (or maybe when? ) my motor does go, I would like for him to be the one that does the work putting me another one back together again.

Was good to meet all of you guys there, and was a blast. Cajun Power, Luke STIwalker and myself stayed all day and enjoyed talking to everyone and seeing how everyones cars turned out. Hope to get together with ya'll again maybe at some future dyno day.

The consensus seemed to be that the dyno was reading about 10 to 20 hp lower than usual (have to help my car's chart out! :P) for all the cars. But I'm not sure, as Luke's STI turned out some very good numbers by Dyno Dynamics standards while being pure stock. If you want Luke you can post my chart, even though its not that spectacular .

Great fun, hope to do it again one day when I have more money for upgrades! :P
