I flat lined the dyno.

jk. I was running the wrong wastegate, and my car wasn't making more than 18psi. I hit 235hp then we pulled the car off the dyno. I am in the market for another turbo. Shiv recommended the Evo IX TME, so I will probably go in that direction. I also was debating replacing my RNR ramhorn manifold for a ported stocker, what do you guys think i should do?
thanks for your input

It was nice meeting everyone on Saturday even though I was one of the only ones that didn't bring a car

I hope next time we have no Wideband O2 sensor issues and no meth spraying all over the place ;-) But till I get a car that can get the Shiv tuning, I guess I will be the strap down ***** haha.

Oh by the way... driving back to Louisiana was quite interesting... Cajun just had to show off the Meth

Hehe, I didn't realize you had a account on here Bravo :P.

Yeah, I learned that 403 hp > 284 hp on a highway pull. Go figure. I want meth too!

My personal suggestion would be ported stocker. While you are at it port the stock O2 housing and keep the support bracket. My tubular manifold didn't last too long without the suport bracket. I went back to the stock manifold not ported and I think it have worked out well (403 AWHP).

Next dyno tune... ported manifold, race gas, race IC... Lottery winnings still pending.

FYI,

It was great to see everyoe there. Great job to Shiv for the tunes. I think eveyone but Gonzo left happy about their tune.

We did have one bad idle problem. Seems like a dead IAC motor. <- sux

Got all the bits installed that needed to be (fuel pump, smart,...) All in all Good job to all involved. Maybe next time we could give out cell phone numbers just in case we need to bump up someone to an earlier time.

I gotta admit I was pretty suprised how smooth things went overall. Everyone that showed up was friendly and it was nice seeing people help each other out with fuel pumps, xede installs, trouble shooting idle problems, etc... Don't want to mention any names <wink wink>, but one of the cars took a little longer than the rest because their car kept burning through vacuum lines while it was on the dyno. Sigfrid gave us (and probably himself) a scare for a little bit, but everything came out ok in the end (but not until he had smoked half a pack of smokes in about an hour). It was cool watching what happens when an EVO boost spikes to 40PSI (or whatever PSI it was when Cajun Powers Greddy BOV died) while on a dyno.

Thats a BIG 10-4! Awesome job and a huge THANK YOU!

Also, I must say the location we were at was Engine Logics, and it seemed to be a top notch engine and tuning shop. Chris the owner was very helpful and even gave a few us a tour of his setup there, and I must say I was very impressed. If (or maybe when? ) my motor does go, I would like for him to be the one that does the work putting me another one back together again.

That was some cool stuff - I just wish that I had thought to ask what the flow limiting pieces of the EVO are like he mentioned on the MR2.

Was good to meet all of you guys there, and was a blast. Cajun Power, Luke STIwalker and myself stayed all day and enjoyed talking to everyone and seeing how everyones cars turned out. Hope to get together with ya'll again maybe at some future dyno day.

Yeah, the best part of that day was meeting a bunch of really nice and helpful guys. Thanks again for yall's help!

The consensus seemed to be that the dyno was reading about 10 to 20 hp lower than usual (have to help my car's chart out! :P) for all the cars. But I'm not sure, as Luke's STI turned out some very good numbers by Dyno Dynamics standards while being pure stock. If you want Luke you can post my chart, even though its not that spectacular .

Now I really wish I had gotten some gas north of Conroe so we could have tested this out. But at least no one got sprayed too bad with the fuel pump install! (THANKS CAJUN!!!)

Great fun, hope to do it again one day when I have more money for upgrades! :P

Hey Jeff!

I wish I could have met you and thanked you in person, but everything ran great. Hopefully we can catch up sometime, call me anytime I would love to check out your car. I actually haven't even noticed it around town although a couple people have mentioned it to me. A guy with a silver lancer that yall's shop installed a turbo on actually recommended me to you.

I made 287 hp on 93 octane with Houston's crappy 10% ethanol as they posted earlier. For comparison, I made 270 in March with only a TBE and a Hi Flow Cat.

Thumbs up

What a weekend it was indeed!

It was a pleasure meeting everyone and I'm glad that the day went well.

A few thank you's are definitely in order:

First, thanks to mitsuorder for helping me out and basically getting my car to the best condition it has ever been in. I really can't thank him enough. He also helped organize the event when I was too frustrated to do anything and just wanted to throw my hands up. He is the one who kept it all together and even managed to help a few people even while being sick to the point of unconsciousness (quite literally).

Second, thanks to Cajun Power for doing the quick and dirty on my XEDE install. Sorry to put you in that situation but I really thought Shiv was supposed to handle it. Thanks for stepping up as I was totally clueless.

Finally, thanks to all for keping a level head and remaining committed to the event. Again, it was really great to meet everyone and I hope to see you guys at the next event. Hopefully, someone else will organzite it

Shiv was kinda helpful too...

BTW, anyone know of a good USB/serial port adapter to use witht the Xede?

Shaheen,

Just can't wait to hear about how much fun you have at the track this weekend. I'd love to come along and watch

Hey Cajun, run to a junk yard and pull the iac motor off of an '02 galant for $50. I had mine take a dump around 72k miles and found that unit off of the galant is identical. Mitsubishi will claim a different part number but it is the same, been running mine since April with no issues. Also I had another member of the forums with pretty low mileage go through the same thing after running high amounts of meth just like you. Just food for thought.

Thanks for taking your time with Shaheens car too

edit: I can't spell

Cajun,
I don't know if you noticed or not but Shiv but a different scale for the Torque graph so your peak torque with pump gas was about 272 ft/lbs and with meth was about 335 ft/lbs.

No, that was just an error when I read the print out. My last one the HP and TRQ were scaled the same. This one the print has two different scales.
