IX/Wideband O2/Smart/XEDE question

I have a IX and am contemplating trying out the XEDE w/SMART when it's available for my car. However, I'd like to buy a wideband O2 sensor plus gauge now that would be compatible with the XEDE in the future. Recommendations? Also, I want to be able to log AFR, not just read it real time on the gauge.

Thanks!

Excellent, thanks guys.

Point of clarification ... if I get the LC-1 with XD-16 gauge standalone package, that won't be able to do logging right? I need the LM-1 for logging capabilities?

Correct, you need the LM-1 for logging.

...follow up, if you get the LC-1 with gauge package (saves you money) you won't be able to log, but once you get an Xede you can do the logging thorugh there. If you can go without logging for a while, that would be a good option to save you some cash.

Just doing a little more research ... seems like the only other real contender is the PLX M series of products. What is your take on those and would the sensor they provide (Bosch LSU4.2?) be compatible with the XEDE SMART system?

Honestly, if you want the easiest transition to SMART possible, stick with innovative products. The SMART tables can be reconfigured to work with different sensor outputs, but the work involved really isn't worth it unless you already had a different wideband before you had your heart set on SMART.

Well just to add to this thread, you can log A/F with LC-1 by connecting your computer to it. You can also buy the LMA-3 which also allows to log EGT, boost, Injector duty cycle, rpms, and something else. Innovative are great tools, I just recently installed my XD gauge and its awesome.

Buy the LC-1. It is the only wideband that is plug and play. Even the LM1 will need to be reconfigured. FWIW, we have a few LC1s in stock.

Thanks everyone. I've only heard good things about Innovative products, so it seems like a good bet.

Dustin - I might have to give you a call ..

Also - Since the IX XEDE isn't out yet, is there anything you could do for me if I bought an EcuTek mail-in flash from you now and then wanted to 'trade up' to the XEDE when it's released?

Ok, this is NOT directed at you triney, but to EVERYONe who asks if x brand wideband will work.

SMART was configured for an LC-1

If you do not have an innovative LC-1, new SMART fuel tables will need to be configured, end of story.

I repeat, if you do not have an LC-1, you will need to be reconfigured. Period, end of story...

If you have a Laptop you can use Logworks to datalog AFR from the LC-1.
