Is there any fitment difference for the downpipes between the evo VIII and evo IX?

 

yes. on the VIII( not the XIII = 13 lol) they dont have to worry about clearing the ACD like they do on the IX. not sure how the vishnu DP fits on the IX

 

if you have a VIII without ACD, you shouldnt have any problems with any 3" dp's. on the VIII's with ACD, most of the 3" dp's do not clear. all the IX's have ACD.
Im running the tanabe 2.75" dp on my IX. no problems, clears everything.

I know WORKS 3" dp clears ACD and helix is suppose to have a new 3" dp that clears too now.

 

find a dp that fits the 05's and any year MR and youll be good to go....pick a few you like then call the place be4 you order to confirm....i reccomend the megan dp..you can find it for 120ish shipped and it fits perfect and i think it will outlast most downpipes because of the flex bit in it

 

helix has a version 2 exhaust they just released that will work on all of the ACD equipped cars. I also have spoken with Zeus and he told me that megan racing is creating a version 2 exhaust specifically to clear the ACD that is equipped on the 05 VIII's and also the IX's. he told me it would be out in a couple months. DC sports DP with cat delete built in also fits the IX from what Ive read. wonder if shiv could chime in on the fitment of hi DP with the ACD equipped cars and if the current one doesnt fit, if they plan on making one to fit the IX's

 

I was looking into a Vishnu Signature TBE. Does anyone with an Evo IX/06 MR have one to confirm it fits fine?

Any more info about the DC SPORT Downpipe for the EVO 9? How about the Cel issues do to no CAT?

 

not as of yet, im going to try to dig up as much info as I can so that I get a rock solid answer on whether or not the DC sports DP fits. when i get a chance im going to call DC and see what they say if they can give me the info im looking for. ill keep you posted with what I find out

Just spoke with someone at DC and he said it hasnt been confirmed to fit on a IX but Im going to call Road Race Engineering since the tech told me to talk to someone there. stay tuned

ok more info. RRE was unable to give me an answer since they dont have any DC DP's in stock so they couldnt confirm the fit...however I looked at evomoto.com

and the link states and I quote "Tech Tips: This downpipe WILL fit 05 MR, RS, GSR models. This downpipe replaces the cat, you will NOT need to buy a cat delete or high flow cat with this setup."

This statement would make me think that it does fit since they are saying 05's including the MR. Maybe ill just have to make myself a guinea pig and buy one of these DP's before May when I go to georgia for Dyno4mance

 

If it fits the O5" EVO 8 MR, it should work on a EVO 9 MR.....is this correct asumption?

If it fits an 05, then it will fit a IX, all 05's, MR, RS, or GSR have ACD. Just like the IXs...

 

Im waiting for an email back from evomoto to confirm the statement on their website so I dont want to jump the gun just yet

 

Spoke to someone at vivid racing and he told me that he is 99% sure the DC downpipe WILL NOT fit on an evo IX. He did tell me that the JIC downpipe fits an ACD equipped car with no problem and that there is more than enough wire connected to the O2 sensor to hook it up to a bung in the test pipe. As a matter of fact he said theres probably enough wire to run the O2 sensor all the way up into the oil pan lol. So now im wondering if evomoto is doing a little false advertising with their statement that it fits an 05 evo....still waiting for my email response from evomoto
