xede what do i need?

ok i'm on the verge of buying a piggback system.

i have the zeitronix wideband gm 3 bar map sensor and egt probe.
i also have a hallman mbc
i have a laptop

my question is, if i want to run xede wtih smart (without the smart boost for now) will i be able to retain usage of my zeitronix?

does xede do logging of any kind of wideband? does xede read the gm 3bar map sensor? does xede log egts? and is there a safe way to "tap" the signal from my zeitronix thermocoupler?

what else do i need? besides a lotta patience and stretches of straight road.

Yes and No, more NO. The SMART maps are calibrated to use the LC-1 WB, but can be calibrated to use another wideband, but no one has done it i.e. Use SMART w/o a LC-1

does xede do logging of any kind of wideband?

Xede can log any WB

does xede read the gm 3bar map sensor?

The xede can log boost useing that MAP sensor

does xede log egts? and is there a safe way to "tap" the signal from my zeitronix thermocoupler?

I pretty sure the xede CAN'T log EGT

I have an xede and the zeitronix WB. I just use the zeitronix software and hardware to log RPM,TPS,AFR,BOOST & KNOCK (using a vishnu knock buffer), then make changes on the XEDE (I don't have SMART). I dont really like any of the programs used to log w/ the Xede.
I do wanna hook my WB output to the Xede, so I can use the new Condition Lean Protect feature Shiv is working on. I will still log using the zeitronix stuff but wanna use the Xede's condition lean protect feature to run Alky injection safely .

hey this is great... so my only real concern is that i have to remap hte smart fuel huh? so does that mean i just have to find new values that fit safe condition on the smart fuel table? how hard is this really?

Trinydex,
I am on the verge of selling my unused Innovative LC-1 wideband in order to buy a Zeitronix WB that logs with the Pocketlogger. With my car, I really need all the extra logging features that the Pocketlogger offers. All we have to do is adjust our Xede to to match the Zeitronix' voltage signal and it should work (right Dustin?) Shiv, doesn't like doing it (because he understandably wants uniformity among his customers), but it can easily be done.

The SMART fuel map will only work w/ the LC-1. Once Shiv releases the new firmware w/ lean protect, then you should be able to use any wideband you want.

The XEDE can not log boost, only duty cycle and it can not log EGT's.

PyXEDE will log knock, AFR's, timing and some other goodies off the XEDE.

If you hook up a MAP sensor to a 0-5V input on the XEDE , you CAN log boost.

All XEDE hardware is the same and all software can be updated. My XEDE is 3 years old and is up to date.

Yep. Just get an xede for the lowest price you can find and have Alfred at Tuning Technologies update you to the newest of the new firmware and Xmap stuff.

i have an 04. i have nisei ic, nisei pipes, 1g bov with dejon tools leak stop, 3" 02 back exhaust, hks rs intake with a knn filter, and that's it as far as power goes.

i'm kinda tossed up right now between ecu+ and xede. i REALLY wonder if xede will ever have maf trans. from what i understand it wouldn't be hard to rig... so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE??? hahaha. i know you'd want that too smoggy. but yeah i'm serious... cuz xede has the most features on top of normal piggy back features of any other piggyback.

man you know i'd get **** for this too hahahaha

I was thinkin of gettin an ECU+ when Tom addes boost conrtol, but the
key word in that sentance is WAS.
When I saw Shiv's new set of SMART features, mostly the lean protection, I desided that I'm gonna keep my XEDE. Just wish they would release the IX harness and updates so I can install it, TBE and Alky injection, on the IX.

apparently the 9 already has a lotta smart features tho... they're just map based, as in map switching as opposed to value bumping (am i correct in this statement).

anyway wanna know if shiv will ever put a dinky lil maf t feature in hahaha i already have the 3.5" cone filter :[

Chris at TT has a lot of experience with a maf translator. I told him that I might want to go with the 3.5" GM MAF because I am afraid my 35R might suck the stock MAF screen right through it. That almost happened once, and Chris reworked my intake piping and he thinks that will be all I need in terms of safety. On the other hand, if/when we push for 600whp, will the stock MAF start "skipping counts" ie, be unable to read that much air flow??

I know that the Xede can either do the maf translation itself or it can work in conjunction with a MAF translator. If I ever go that route I'll either have Alfred and Chris at Tuning Technologies work it out or I'll see if Shiv is willing give it a shot.
