make sure the engine is running since the xede needs close to 14v to update firmware.

is the red wire that i hook the purple wire I moved into the other harness, the loose red wire on the harness? Or is it the red wire thats in the same harness as the purple wire now?

Part or my problem was I unhooked the wrong green wire on the ecu, I rewired it and I got the car to start w/ the XEDE plugged in however there is no LED indicating that the XEDE is on or anything, would that be due to the fact there is no map installed on the XEDE?

Also is it possible My XEDE wasnt working properly if the circuit board was touching metal, I don't know that it was but I am trying to trouble shoot why this isnt working. I'm an avid DIY'er and have put in a many stereo's and other electronics, I am so frustrated right now! I even tired hooking up the 12v source to another cars battery that was running but my laptop was starting to give me the COM1 error again and xupdate wasnt recognizing the XEDE.
