2. the year and exact modifications to your Evo
3. what do you plan to have done by Shiv?

nj1266: of course you can come hang out. Look forward to meeting you.

I certainly don't blame you for wanting to save money, but you are not saving $650. To be accurate, you are saving $300 on the tune and $110 on dyno time. Real money, but the $110 for the dyno results are worth the extra money by themselves as you can see exactly what you started with and what power you ended with. Good luck though and feel free to come visit at the event anyway.

I am not flaming you in any way and you have the right to do what you want with your car. I know that you are going with a dynoflash. But keep this in mind: Al is a good tuner when it comes to 93 octane gas, but his work is hit and miss when it comes to CA 91 octane poor quality gas. There are numerous stories on this board and on socalevo that you can read and make up your own mind about.

As smog runner said, the dyno allows you before and after results that you cannot get with a road tune. You might have to dyno later on to figure out your gains/losses in the power curve.

Also Shiv and Tuning Tech are experts when it comes to tuning with CA crappy gas. Plus they are local and are not a one man company.

Good luck with your tune and I hope all turns out fine for you.

+1 true road tune only allow you to do so much like Correct the AF and knock, but it won't tell you when you start to lose power. i guess that when you rely on the Butt - O - Meter rite
