Find a nice intellectual property attorney. The threat may be idle.

As long as it is independent hardware/software... the threat is "idle".

Quite honestly, this may just stir me to learn more about tuning since I will be able to pick up where the Xede leaves off. I'm having problems with my Xede/SMART setup... and I believe them to be in the Xedeflash itself. The Vishnu setup has boundless possibilities, but not being able to fix my cold start/run problems in the ECU takes away from the experience.

Now to clarify... this software will require an OBDII interface, or "their" interface?

as they've indicated, it requires a mitsubishi adapter to put the ECU into a reprogram mode. they are making the harness to mate this adapter with the obdII interface. I suppose anyone could do that, so it isn't really proprietary, although with the legwork involved to do it on your own, it might as well be.

Just pre-ordered one of "their" interfaces. Obviously going to have to "de-techtom" when the time arises.

I was under the impression that you would be able to "build" upon your original tune and no need to go back to stock - unless you had ECUtek.

Hmmm, I could have sworn that I read if you were flashed with either the techtom or ECUtek that you needed the factory ROM for it to work. I wish that original thread was still around. Anyway, I just asked in the other thread. I'm sure hoping you guys are right
