Hex editing freeware?

Hi guys,
Anyone know where we could download hex editing freeware? We have a few ecu mapping suites (WinOLS, Techtom, etc,.) but that is all licensed stuff.
cheers,
shiv

Hex Workshop is the defacto in hex editors. Comes with a trial and a single license is only $50

Thanks man. I appreciate it. One of the things we like to do here is to show customers what exactly we do and how we do it. This has always been the case of the XEDE. Now, more and more, it's going to be the case with XFlash. Would people be interested in threads about ecu ROM editing?

A good 5% of us would be absolutely extatic to by privy to Evo ROM tuning. The other 95% just wanna know why the uber cool intake pipe they installed doesn't decrease their ETs.

In other words... YES! ...what have you been waiting for.

I would definately be interested in threads about ecu ROM editing. In fact, I just picked up Circuit Cellar magazine because I wanted to start tinkering with embedded programming. I'm currently working with pyXede to make remote logging, so this would be a great topic.

Whoa. Somebody actually READ the code.

If you could email me the details of what you are doing, that'd be great. There are tons of features (and whole systems) that aren't in the public CVS tree. For example I have a general purpose engine data analysis tool that can generate you're smart thresholds for you. pyXede also has module for OBD-II functions as well which is not yet released. Oh, and then there's the lap analysis tool for use with race car telemetry systems.

Bring on the hexadecimals! This sounds REALLY interesting. This could be the ultimate subject on this board to date.

http://tunerpro.markmansur.com . I use it for binary editing my ROM file on my 91 z28. You can define a template for how the binary file should be edited. I have used the raw hex editing feature of it, but it should work like any other. The template front end is the way to go.
