Xede map help

I plan to start mixing required amounts of 91 octane and 100 octane to get 93 octane here in CA. I want to run the off the shelf Xede 93 octane map for the 05 Evo until I can get the car custom tuned for 93 octane. I DO NOT have SMART.

I downloaded the 93 octane map and found soem hex maps that are either labeled SMART or are empty. Here is what I found:

1. Map 4: SMART Timing, timing offset +/-12.7%. But the hexs are zeroed out
2. Map 5: SMART Fuel, scale +/-30%. This one has numbers in it, but I am not sure if it is needed since a non-smart fuel hex map already exists.
3. Map 6: Fuel Threshold, scale +/-100%. This map has all the hexes filled with -100.

Do I need these hex maps? My custom tuned 91 octane map does not have them, but it has a knock hex map with 20 in the hexes. Do I need such a hex map for the oof the web site 93 octane map?

OK, looking at their maps. They have added tables for the SMART to keep the logic flow intact. On the non-SMART the fuel thresholds will be all -100's. On the SMART timing all 0's.

If you take those maps out you will lose the logic flow.

Example
"Timing" maps thru table 2 "timing" then outputs to "User 3"
"user 3" maps thru table 4 "SMART timing" then outputs to "Timing"

If you remove table 4 you lose the logic. You would have to change the output of table 2 to timing. If you look at your existing tables and keep the input/outputs the same you can use the new template. It would be easier to change the values in you existing map to the 93 values.

I see what you mean. All the maps are inter-connected, if I remove one then I lose the connection between the maps. OK, I created a new map configuration that has the same logic flow as the custom 91 non-smart xede map that I have. I kept the same values that shiv has created for timing, fuel, boost and added a knock map. I uploaded the map. Please tell me if it will work.

The new templates don't use the knock table. but other than that is looks like it would work just fine to me.

You took the v330 93 octane #'s and put them in your map and resaved right?

You could have also taken you numbers and put them in the new v330 template. Either way should work.

If the new templates do not use the knock table, then how does the Xede protect against knock?

Yes, I used the Xede map configuration settings from my custom 91 map and Shiv's 93 octane hex maps and resaved.
