problem with xede smart

so i go up to my dads and it is hot as hell up there. my car started misfiring real hard. it felt like my car was gonna break in half. so i limped it to a parking lot asap. i had pullled my glove box off and see there is no light on. i am like wtf cause shiv installed and tuned it himself like 2 monthes ago. i restart it and it is a yellow light. WTF. i limp it to a friends house and let it cool off. turn it on and get a green light so i let it idle for a minute and boom i get a crazy *** idle it wants to die so i shut it off. wait a few and turn it on. green light again. i get to the light around the corner and it starts flashing yellow and idles all crazy. i cant even hardly get it to a parking lot cause its mis firing and backfiring crazy. all i can think of is it has a loose wire or it is too hot or the wideband is all jacked up. i cant even drive it home 5 hours away till i figure it out.

anyone else had this problem before??????

Make sure the xede harness ECU plug is all the way in in the ECU and the Stock yellow plug is all the way in the xede harness receptacle.

Another thing to check is the harness board (part where the wires are soldered into the board) is not making contact with the ECU metal frame.

Also check the black ground wire, make sure it is bolted tight and/or the wire is crimped tight in the eyelet.

It could even be a coil pack problem. We see a lot of coil problems on these cars, and most start to happen in the snap of a finger. Let us know what happens when things cool off.

i talked to you earlier dustin. i was thinking that could be it also. it only acts up in the hot daytime and not at night. i get a red, amber, green. sometimes it ran in just amber then turned to just red. sometimes it turned completely off. i sent it up to you today for an update cause you said it is an overheat safeguard thing or something. it was hard to hear in that place. caan you tell me what the different color codes mean for future reference. akso will this mess up my dyno tune cause it is also tuned for 780 cc inj.

so dustin told me it was an overheat protection and to send it to him for a fix. well, this happened 5 hours from home while at my dads house. so i sent it to them and have given them a bunch of phone calls in regard to this problem and they havent even gotten mad at me over the phone. all i have recieved from them is great customer service and the answers i was looking for. dustin in particular has been real helpful so i gotta give a big thumbs up to him for fixing the problem and being patient with all my phonecalls. thanks vishnu for your great customer service.
