I'm coming down to get tuned by Shiv in the near future and am wondering if I'll be able to hit around 315 on that damn heartbreaker dyno with the following mods:

-WORKS Drop in
-AMS LICP
-RNR/HKS custom turboback CATLESS
-custom Ecutek tune from Shiv, 91 oct.

Am I being a little too optimistic or is this a feasible number? I'm hoping I'll for sure break 300 but hitting 310-315 on that dyno with just these mods would really make my day. Anyone have any thoughts/comments?

I think he'll be okay. I tuned a IX today with just a 3" exhaust (with free flow cat) and it made 307whp and 308lb-ft of torque! It was a reasonably cool day today (around 70F) so seeing a number that high in the middle of summer is pretty rare. I'll post up the results later tonight in a separate thread.

holy crap! That has to be the highest IX yet with JUST an exhaust w/ CAT. I'm speechless. Shiv you must be getting more out of these cars then you were a few months ago eh?

I wonder why it hit so high, it really amazes me? Possibly just a really strong factory car or new tweaks with the tuning software?

 

renoevo.. to answer your question, most 9s with catless tbe and flash are right arround 300. some a bit more some a bit less. for 315 you would need cams. Its just hard to get much more with this miserable gas.

 

^ read the above post from shiv. A IX hit 308whp with a CATTED tbe only. I'm assuming on 91, awaiting more details from the man himself! Thats got to be the highest one yet with the mods. I mean catless would be one thing but hitting that with a cat in, just blows me away. So this car has the potential to hit 320+ on a DD w no cat,licp,o2 housing,intake/filter?! That just doesnt seem possible, holy hell it seems too good to be true. These IX's are what dreams are made of!!!

Don't get your hopes up. Every car has different tuning potential. More parts does not always equal more power but catless should help at least 10 whp. Also Shiv might have an off day tuning. Even Tiger Woods loses some tournaments and Shaq scores single digits in a game. I say look to get between 295whp and 310 whp and if u get more be happy. Also hook Shiv up with a young hottie the night before and u might get 330 whp on 91 octane. To put all this in perspective, my 3037/76 R turbo on 91 octane(catless,cams etc) only made roughly 320-330 whp on 91 octane on his moon dyno.
