XEDE vs reflash

hey i hate to ask a question like this but i really have to know. what is exactly the difference between the xede and the reflash for the IX?? i currently have the flash and awaiting shiv to visit us here at DYNO4MANCE so i can get a custom tune, but should i go to the xede when i comes out, but then again i dont know the difference. not too smart in the ecu aspect of the car. and will the xede prove better HP then a reflash and a custom tune.........sorry to waste threads but hope someone can help.......

From what I can see the Xede on top of letting you manipulate the ECU like a flash does....you can also add launch control/no lift shift, Meth control, lean-run protection, and have two maps preloaded on the xede (depending on how many tables you have in your maps) that you can switch at the flip of a switch...I know that there is more but I am not familiar with them

I do have a question though....lets say someone does get a flash and then wants to go the xede route for its extras when the IX harness comes out...would the ECU need to be flashed with a stock flash or will the xede overwrite those flashed settings?

You can keep the Xflash but since XEDE is based on offsets from the actual ECU value you won't be able to use "off the shelf" maps for the XEDE and would only be able to custom tune.

The Xede unit can be used in a variety of ways, depending on what you want it to do. You can use it to tune over top of a flash or by itself. The maps have both an absolute and offset mode.

However, everyone should remember that the base maps on the website assume you have a stock ecu or just an Xedeflash (raised rev limit, boost limit, speed limit).
