Newbie here...

I just bought a car and it has the XEDE unit. I am assuming it is already running one of the Vishnu maps but I am not sure. I have a few questions that I have not been able to find an answer to.

-- Are the XEDE maps provided on Vishnu's website essentially plug and play. Meaning, can I just upload one and expect to see more power. Or are they made to be tunned and are not meant to be driven without a tune?

-- I downloaded the Version 3.2 XEDE software onto my laptop but noticed that there are no maps for stock 03-04 EVO's in the 3.2 database. However, there are stock maps for the 03-04 in the Version 2 database. Am I missing something?

-- Do the maps from the Vishnu site raise your boost from the stock level?

In case you want to know, I have a stock 2003 VIII. I want the most recent and best map for my current application. Do people share the XEDE maps or am I totally off base here? Sorry for the newbie questions, I am just trying to understand how this all works.

Did the owner say which firmware the XEDE has? Did you ask what map is in it?

Well he can always find out what map is in there. You can hookup your laptop to the Xede to download and then save the map. You could then download one of Shiv's map off Vishnu's site and compare the two.

From there you could get an idea on how aggressive your tune is. I will tell you this, i'm running the 360 map on my car -- I only have a TBE and a lower IC pipe -- the car's entire rev range (on boost of course) is completely usable. Smooth as can be...very powerful!

You will be very happy with the results I'm sure.

Please remember the V360 maps were designed with cam gears set at -5/-5. I'd watch for boost spikes and timing being pulled (not smooth). On a side note, I also ran V360 when I had just a TBE.

Good Luck!!!
