i will look at the timing today sometime. i acctualy think that might be a problem at idle it sounds like my timing is off just a bit and up at high rpms i can feel it kinda stop and catch again very very small barely feel it but its like its having trouble getting to higher rpms.

Definately bring yr car to either Turbotrix or Sean Ivey for a custom tuned, u also need to have both springs put back in greddy typeS to prevent boost leak!
I ran 24psi all day for 2 years and have not lose to any modded STi before, so there is definately something wrong with yr car!

Check your Greddy. I was chasing what I thought was a boost leak (else where in the system) because my Greddy was so new. I discovered that the rubber diaphram (spelling?) had ruptured.
Just something to look at.
You might not need the following info but just as an FYI :
1. losen/disconnect the BOV's 2 large and one small hose and remove the BOV from the car.
2. open the Greddy up by losening the multiple torx screws around the purple cap.
3. be ready for the spring to push it a part as you near the last screw.
4. carefully examine the rubber diaphram inside for holes.
5. look for fine rubber granules as a sign that it is beginning to fail if there are no obvious holes
(the following is a personal opinion)
6. Get a different BOV (IX's Stock or Forge)
I was a die hard Type S fan until it failed me at the track. I looked everywhere for the problem but the Greddy because it seemed like it was working (I didn't buy it for the sound, but I could hear the release, so I thought it was working ok - (duh). Won't have to learn that lesson again (JDM DV)

I really doubt that it is your tune. I looked at a base 93 octane 390 map and the boost is maxed out beyond 4700 rpm. Below that the boost is almost maxed out. Your not going to get much from playing with the boost table.
I looked at the timing map and it does not retared from the stock timing by much. It backs timing by approx 3% (3*) about 6300 rpm.
Do you have an wideband O2 sensor to log your AFR with? What is it reading if you have one. You might be too lean at between 12-13:1 just like all of the base maps on the site and you might be knocking and that might pull your timing. MIGHT is the operative word here. You need to log your AFR and your timing and post the results.
I think it is your crappy BOV. Get the JDM DV or EVO 9 DV (they are the same) and install it. It is the best DV for the EVO.

Just to sift through the bullsh!t for you here:
1. Send ECU to Vishnu for Xflash to get boost cut, fuel cut, rev limit, etc removed. (Not sure if Xede already does this, but assuming a Vishnu tuned owner offered this advice, i would suggest looking into it.)
2. Cam timing may be off. (TurboTrix can check for you)
3. May be pulling timing. (not likely when taking other v390 cars into effect that are fine on the off the shelf map, but always a possibility) (Only way to fix this is by getting a tune, again TurboTrix, or Sean Ivey)
4. leaky BOV (highly doubt this is your issue, but may as well fix it anyway)
None of these options are that atrocious to look in to, so get to it !

i just went and put the other spring back in. its holding boost better. 21psi until about 63-6500 then tapers off a little to like 19. How hard or soft do you think i should have this set now. i noticed it takes a lot more for it to open, like when not in gear and i rev it up it wont make any noise till i get to like 6k and let off. should i have it really hard really soft or just in the middle? thanks guys
