Launch Control Wire?

Ok I tried e-mailing Vishnu all week, I called twice, once thursday and once friday. Still no response back. I need the wire that connects into the XEDE from the clutch to activate the launch control. I dunno how else to get it.

you can use the firm ware upgrade lead that is a spare wire in your Xede harness for it.

Should we rename this thread the HolyShiznit and Cajun Power private discussion thread... LOL. I have also learned that you can have a non moving rev limiter set in the ECU. This would be a "Launch Control" without the No Lift To Shift. I will be trying to get Shiv to set this up on my ECU. I do not like the NLTS part. It is too slow between gears.

^^^ I found that light green wire but then it says, "using the wire provided by Vishnu". I don't have that other wire. I know I am supposed to take the green wire and connect it to the other wire but I don't have the other wire and I don't know where that one connects to.

OK, the light green wire from the ECU is you clutch engage/disengage wire. That is the source for your activate/deactivate on your LC/NLTS. Now you need to add it as an input to you Xede so that you can add a map to look for that pin to be on/off. You need to connect it to you Xede with a wire and a deutch pin (round pin in Xede harnesses). If you do not have a spare deutch pin You can look at the SMART install instructions here:

http://www.vishnutuning.com/Smart/firmware_updating.htm

That will give you the wire that you will need. Then you can splice to tap into the launch wire as needed. I believe the Vishnu provided wire would come with the female to plug in like the boost wire with the deutch pin on the other end. That would be nice and clean. But, if you want to DIY this you can either tap into the green wire and leave it in the ECU or pull it from the ECU and splice it. I believe the best way is to remove it from the ECU and just go straight to the Xede.

That wire then goes here:

IV. Feed this wire into pin 1 on the black connector of the xede.

As per step 4 of this:

http://www.vishnutuning.com/Smart/launch_control.htm

Then all you have to do is the maps. If you have a custom map today you will have to change 3 maps to make it work do to the logic flow. Or use their template and add you tune values.

Are you testing me?

^^^ Thanks man. I bought this car without the launch control set-up and it didn't have the wire with the deutch connector. Thank you so much, you have been more helpful than Vishnu.......since they seem to hate answering e-mails and phones.

They can be hard to get in touch with, espcialy early in the AM or around holidays. That is when we count on each other to help out. I am not an EVO expert or a Vishnu rep but I have been working with them and their product for 3 years now. So, I have been thru a LOT of the bumps and bruises. Good luck and hang in there.

Their products are top notch and their service/tuning is as well. just don't expect a 24/7 call center type answer to your question. They spend more time on the dyno or under the hood than in the office. I wish I lived in CA just so I could go bug them every time I have a question. But, I have learned to be a little patient and that seems to go a long way.
