? on Evo IX V380

Okay so i am looking into getting the V380 reflash, but i would like to know from someone who has had it done how they feel about the flash? Also is it safe to be running that much hp without modification to anything whatsoever. I know the engine can handle it but can everything else? Ive only heard good things about Vishnu i just want to make sure i wont have any problems.

TIA,
Zac

The car will be fine, and more importantly, you'll be even happier with it once you get it reflashed.

I have it installed on my stock Evo IX. On my car it produced 24.5 - 25 psi of boost on my stock MR boost gauge. When I logged the ECU during 4th gear WOT runs, I saw frequent knock sum values of around 4-5 with occasional values as high as 15. Vishnu advised me to reduce the boost by reinserting the restrictor pill. Boost is now reaching a max of about 23 psi. I am still seeing knock sums of 2-3, and on a few runs, I have seen 7-8. This does concern me. I asked Shiv about this, but never got a response back.

Besides my issues with boost and knock, its been a great addition to the car. From low rpms to high rpms, power is greatly improved. My future plans are to add a Works high flow air filter, and a Random Tech high flow cat, and try to stop there with the engine mods.

hahahaha! Once you start modding it's quite difficult to cure yourself of the diease. I promised my wife 3 years ago that all I needed for my new car were these few little things (Vishnu stage 1) and I would be fine! I find it difficult to stop. Kinda like crack, or meth. Maybe you shouldn't start?

I'd say that it would be worth it to drive the 400 miles. I'm not nearly that close.

I have a custom-tuned V400 (flash, plus exhaust) on my IX and it is frickin' perfect. I drove 120 miles to get the custom tune and would have driven 400 miles if necessary. The drive there is worth it. The drive back will be even better.

It depends what you mean by "hurt" the car. If you are concerned that drivability will suffer (ie. car will run rough, stutter, etc.), the answer is no. If anything, my V400 tuned Evo runs better than stock. If you are concerned that the increased HP and torque will increase wear and tear, the answer is probably yes. More power typically means more wear. It would be tough for someone to say how much more wear, as no one is conducting thorough long-term testing. More wear will also occur because the V380 or V400 upgrade will make you want to hit the redline every time you accelerate from a stop. If you are looking for more power, and a little more wear and tear is not a concern, I highly recommend the Vishnu upgrades.

Yup. Suffice it to say I had V360 for 3 years with NO problems as a daily driver. I've moved up to v500 (yeah baby!) and so far I'm lovin' it!!!

I'm having my intake, exhaust, catless, and 272 cams (once the cams for evo9 on the market)...
I know I need to tune it. but, this is my first turbo car, and I don't know what I need to do..

if I go for these mods, what stage do you recommend?? v360? v400? or??
if I decide to go for Vishnu, what do i need to do?? send my ecu? or buy one??

please help me here :-)

thank you guys.
