ok, in all seriousness, sell it (good luck) or get a custom tuned ECU and keep the XEDE for minor tweaks (race gas maps).

There is better EM out there.

i didnt ask if there was a better em system. i asked when the s.m.a.r.t. upgrade was going to be available. and what makes others better

It will be a while. I think it is largely due to the differences between the EVO ECU and the STI ECU. As a result, the XEDE pinouts for the EVO and STI are different and a slightly (or very) different configuration for the smart system would be required.

The following is just my opinion:

It will be a very very long ways away cause they arent going to make it....there are too many STI owners that DO NOT have the Xede. Dont get me wrong, the Xede is a great unit in the hands of Shiv (I watched him tune an STI) or any capable tuner for that matter, but monetarily speaking, its not worth it for Vishnu to make SMART for the STIs or WRXs for that matter.

I would like to know as well. My friends have had excellent recults with the XEDE on their EVO's so I would like to go with a solution that I know I can have tuned by Shiv rather than some random "PROTuner" that just started tuning cars a year or two ago.

I called and spoke to Calvin at Vishnu and was basically told that he doesn't know when it will be ready. Is Shiv even working on the STI at all or has all focus been given to the 335 for the foreseeable future? Not that I mind, I would just like to know if this is something worth waiting for or if "Coming Soon" means 4th Quarter of 2007.

i guess us sti guys aren't getting an answer
