XEDE and BIGGER INJECTORS

I am about to upgrade to larger injectors. On my DSM using DSMLink I was able to tune my LTFTs by adjusting injector deadtime and such.

How does the XEDE compensate for the bigger injectors? Do I simply pull additional fuel and hope for the best or is there a way to actually tune the injectors?

I dont think the xede can compensate for lagrger injectors. YOu have to rescale that stuff via xflash on the ecu.

I would like this verified. Are the folks with bigger injectors scaling them via flash?

Either you send your ECU in to have it flashed(scaled) for the larger injectors, or alternately you can do it via EcuFlash. What size injectors do you plan to use?

I am planning on going with 850s. Now when I did injector tuning via DSMLink I normally had to tweak the standard adjustments to get the fuel trims in check. I gues with the mail in flash what you get is what you get.

Maybe I'll have to purchase the ECUFlash and tune the injectors myself. Hopefully someone can provide a how-to for this kind of task.

There is a thread in ECUflash forum that shows you how to do it. IIRC, you will input a number in the injector scaling segment of the rom that is 10-15% lower than 850. Then you will have to set the latency tables to match the new injectors. The attached file shows you the different latency numbers for different injectors

Part 2:

If I use ECUFlash to change injector size and latency but leave my fuel map the same I should be good to go as far as the ECU is concerned but then that signal is fed through the XEDE and a % adjustment is made. If my original XEDE fuel map says -10% fuel will that adjustment be out of synch now that I have bigger injectors?

I guess my question is does inj scaling change what the XEDE fuel map adjusts?

I found this thread to be an excellent explanation about rescaling injectors
via ECUFlash.

The general concenses is that you should'nt totally knock your Xede tune out of whack if your injectors can be scaled properly with ECUFlash.

-------------------------------------------------------

Using the Features > Output Scaling and/or Output Clamping, in the Xede menu, it will most likely change your state of tune, especially the timing.

With all that said ...

I've been thinking about having Jestr tuning scale for some 650 FIC injectors
for about $50.00 via email ECUFlash. Jestr has been very highly praised by Zues and others on this forum.

I have all sorts of new parts ... Cams, Valve Springs and Retainers and more.
The truth is I'm afraid to take " the plunge ".

Thanks for the post .....

Looks like I will simply be sending my ECU in to get reflashed (at no cost).

I see in your signature that you allready have Vishnu's X-Flash.
Since you are able to get a free reflash, that's a good thing.

I also edited my previous post for punctuation errors...
Sorry I must have been tired last night.
