Engine misfires with XEDE

Does anyone know why my engine might be misfiring randomly? It comes and goes. It's fine most days, and then suddenly the cars lurching in the freeway so bad that I have to pull over. Can it be the colder temperature now in SoCal? I have Smart installed as well, and would think this would compensate for temp variations.

Now I let the thing boot up for about a minute or two before starting the engine. It's fine in the morning, but in the afternoon it almost always acts up half way home. This is my daily driver and I am getting tired of putting up with this. I had TT adjust it once since the XEDE was installed, but not looking forward to going back there regularly if this is going to be an ongoing problem. I am to the point I am thinking about taking it out if I can't get it to work right.

It usually flashes between orange and red, or green and red. Sometimes it settles at a solid red. It only lurches when the lights flashing. But in the morning when I start up, it's green and stays green.

Sounds like the sensitive overtemp issue. If you send it in to us, we can do a board update for you free of charge, which will fix all of your issues.

My problem is that this is my daily driver. Can I run the car without the XEDE? I was told yes by someone at Vishnu. But after looking at the setup, I am not sure how to physically do it. There are two femal connectors that go into the XEDE. How do I connect them together?

You would just unplug the harness all together and put the car back to stock.

Dustin, could this upgrade to XEDE mess up the custom tuning done by TT?

No, it has to be done in house by us, or in Australia by chip torque. Check out the install instructions online. It shouldn't take you more than 5 minutes to unplug the xede, and I can do the update in one day.
