xede boost cut?

Does the xede cut the ignition if boost gets too high? Here is what happened. I drove down to sf. Along the way the car would cut out like you turned the key off under boost accel in 5th. Each time my recall on the boost gauge was in the 24.5 psi range. That's alot of boost for pump gas map. No detination. On other cars that I'm familier with the map sensor only checks atmospheric pressure on start up. After I left sf it never did it on the way back.

No, boost cut requires a reflash (easy if you have a Tactrix cable), or you can send it to Vishnu and they'll do it for a hundred bucks (As well as raise your rev limiter). Your choice, but I think the Tactrix and flashing yourself is the better way to go.

Thanks for the replies. I don't mined the boost cut. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have a problem that needed some work.

Download Ecuflash, open "Boost Limit" and raise the values...some people raise it to 319 across the board to avoid all overboost protection, some raise the numbers according to RPM until they don't experience it. YMMV.

kewl. and flashing it through the obd port won't affect the xede correct? or do you have to temporarily unhook the xede to flash the rom? thanks.

You don't have to unhook the Xede and it will not affect anything to do with the Xede.. It's fine
