Tuning for Fuel Economy

Hi all,
I'm trying to modify my tune to get some better gas mileage. I'm looking at a custom tune from Shiv and I notice that on the Fuel Map 0.0's for ever cell for load 25% and less.

What do you guys think about me putting maybe -2's in every one of those cells (up to 4000 RPM) basically leaning out all cruising loads. Do you think there will be danger of detonation in this area?

Anyone here tried to do this themselves? what kind of results did you get?

Thanks for any feedback

By the way what numbers did you put down? Can you post your graph? Sorry for the off topic comment.

My numbers

I put down 326 to the wheels, I forget the torque, I want to say about 310. That's on pretty conservative boost, I think only about 18PSI at the top. Shiv was a little superstitious after my car had a small coolant leak, so he didn't want to push it.

WHich was cool, I'm very happy with the numbers.

I don't have the sheet because the Printer ran out of ink, SHiv is supposed to post my dyno sheet later.

By the way, your car was crazy sounding, I loved the darth vader look also. You have a evo ix turbo on your car right? you think it's a worthwhile mod?

Thats a tough question, I did make more power. Their is another difference between my last years dyno day and this one, last year it was 23%humidity and this one it was 83%humidity(the funny thing the temp were the same). Shiv says if I came back on dry day with no humidity, the car would make 10 more hp. So I guess 20whp is a gain I got from the turbo. The main test would be when I go to the track and the trap speeds will show what kind of power i am making.

On another note, I made a few runs with my friends Evo 9 that has a full exhaust, cosworth cams, intake and a tune. On pump gas we were side by side.
