XEDE control for the intercooler spray

Shiv, I remeber you mentioning something about the XEDE being able to control this. Since it seems like it never turns on during AUTO mode, I am very interested in this option. During hot days it makes a hell of a difference.

Also I hope you are coming to Colorado since we now have 10 people. Will we be able to make that modification after the XEDE installation ourselves? Cable Splicing and such? I'd like to keep the system completley reversible to stock.

The XEDEs water spray function should work now. The output is shown below. I just have to figure out the EVO specific wiring schematic first. Need to know which pin in the factory ECU harness to extract (just like we do for boost).

Any updates with this feature?
I've attended a few track events recently with the sprayer on Auto mode and despite driving the car hard on the track, oil temps at 240F, at WOT it doesn't seem to be spraying as much as i'd like. Very little infact. Is it also possible for you guys to hack the code in the ECU for lower threshhold parameters to activate the sprayer? A nice bonus to the XFlash. I'd rather do the flash for this feature if it's possible. Summer is right around the corner! Please put this on your " to do's list". Thanks!

Our XEDE software guy had this to say to me today via email:

Hi Shiv,
I think I know what's going on here.... sounds like the XEDE water spray is
not coming on on the EVOs- is this right? If this is the described problem,
then the reason for this is that the trigger input for the water spray is
MAP, not MAF (was a long time ago when I decided this...! shoulda had more
foresight I guess... ) I'll update it soon to use any tuning map input
or output, but for now it's gonna take too long (got to get new XMap out
today). It turns out that the MAP sensor should be wired in on the EVO
plug-in harnesses anyway, although they should run out of stick way before
max load; I think that if the MAP trip level is set to 100%, the water spray
will never trip. So try setting it to 99-99% and you should be in luck.
Let me know how it goes.
I haven't tried the water spray feature myself on the EVO but hope to in the next couple of weeks. I'll post up a tutorial/wiring diagram afterwards

Shiv,

Could you please have the guys from Chiptorque enable this feature with the Evo when they're in town in the next few weeks. I'd really like for this feature to work with the Xede. If it's not possible to trigger it from the ECU, perhaps it may be possible to trigger it from the manual switch wiring?

Yep... it's one of the things on our agenda. Trying to do it so that its all taken care of in the harness (no additional wiring work for customers)

Awesome!!!!

I can't wait to see the next Xede and XMap updates. I can only imagine how powerful and feature rich they will be. Keep up the good work.
