Here's an interesting thread for you, that you may or may not have seen. I hope my response has done you some justice.

Thanks for that Alex. I just don't understand where some folks get their numbers from. And they will still make their bad arguments despite the facts being laid out right in front of them.
As for the trash-talking from competitors, I actually welcome it. I take it as a complement
Cheers,

Since i have been fortunate to be right at the hotbeds of Works and Vishnu and have extensively spent time at each one of their shops, and have products on my Evo from both, don't understand why people keep on picking on them.
From my experience at Vishnu,Shiv is extremely knowledgable and can really tune the Evo
Btw,
When is the stage 2 ready

Everyone needs to relax on this forum. I dont understnd all these babys on here. Hell its always EVOvsSti, EVOvsWRX,EVOvsSRT-4, EVOvsBlahBlahBlah. Now its EVOvsEVO and EVO vendor vs EVO vendor. This stuff really needs to stop on all sides.
Shiv from what I have heard you have been doing a great job. I went with another vendor because of my preference in upgrading. I have to say that Buschur and Vishnu are the only ways to go (this is my opinion after months of research).
Peace everybody

1) Lotus Elise: 2zz-GE motor made by Toyota (makes it an illegitimate "Lotus" already....it's like having a Honda-powered ferrari
2) 190 hp and 130 lb/tq.....for $38,000 this must set an ALL NEW RECORD for an expensive car with no guts!
3) If you want a expensive car with no guts I can sell you my lancer for $38,000!

The engine that caught Becker's attention was the 1.8-liter inline-4 with VVTL-i (variable-valve timing and lift) found in the Toyota Celica GT-S.....$38,000 for a Toyota engine! Oh wow, didn't I just beat one of those the other day running backwards. Oh they are soooo fast!
The 1/4 mile is CLAIMED, as well as the 0-60 is CLAIMED.
I find it funny how you can compare a Z06 to an Elise considering there MASSIVE difference in size, engine and EVERYTHING else to do with the car....but hey if that's your reasoning then an Enzo Ferrari will whoop an Elise around a track and so will a Viper, a Ducati and Michael Schumacher!
Let's compare Elises with F1 cars, because they're fast cars too! Try drawing better analogies next time there ARE other cars that are compareable to an Elise, you just aren't informed enough to know it.
Correct the Rover K series is the REAL Lotus engine, and as for buzzy, do some research and find out where the Rover K revs to and where the Toyota engine revs too and imagine which one is going to be buzzing more....here's a hint, 190 bhp @ 7800 rpm let's compare that to the redline of the K series, well it was anywhere between 5-7500 rpms. Well the "new" Elise is making all it's power in the top-end, with no torque and the max-power is almost 8k. You obviously know nothing about engines at all. But hey, a Rover engine at 5k is buzzier than a Celica engine at 7800k...because you say so, because you've heard one before :P Light years ahead in Power? Hmmmm last I checked there were Elises running around with those "Buzzy" K series producing 215bhp.
Keep trying....
If you want a British car go buy a Chimera, Tuscan S or put up the money for an Esprit - v8 twin turbo. They're kinda worth the money and make decent power.
As for the whole Lotus will fly around ANY racetrack faster than an EVO and on most tracks quicker than a Z06....I bet you speak from experience, Mr. Car-Tester-Type-Guy from Boulder, Co. Lots of Evo's and Z06's flying around tracks out in Colorado! Bet you have your own little version of Laguna Seca in your backyard! So tell me where's all this "in-car race experience" come from? Your own personal in-car experience with all three lined up? or did you have a bath and bring the hot wheels in the tub with you and the elise got stuck in the drain the fastest? No one has put a Lotus Elise head to head with any other car available in America. But I guess you must have in your own secret little Road America.
My Grandfather BUILDS UK kit cars and has owned SEVERAL lotus' in his day, including the Elise, Exige and Esprit, the Elise is not a car to be impressed with when you compare it to other sub-2000lb cars build for taking to the track....your getting excited over a go-cart with a lawnmower engine. Seriously! For $38,000 you could outfit many cars with different drive-trains to stomp all over an Elise. Heck I'd put my money down on my buddies Spoon ITR (http://www.speedstar.ca/main_aboutus.htm) on your Elise. Same driver, same track, head-to-head or Track Attack Time Trial. It will eat up the Elise and at a price tag well less than $38000.
Judging by the way people drive powerful-well handling cars (Evo's especially) more Elises will end up crashed than beating a car around the track, because normal people can't drive nimble sports cars responsibly, whether they have 1000hp or 190hp. Not that the Avg. person can fit in an Elise because they're overweight, don't fit in the seats, won't be able to get out and will have trouble driving the car in any shoe bigger than a fitted Puma/Adidas/Nike shoe...essentially a shoe not much bigger than a size 9 foot.
Defend your silly little Else....because the funniest part about it is you actually think it's worth $38,000!
