anybody wants to be a guinea pig ? HKS 264/264 still in box, sitting right here. call around... this is the only one available for the next couple of months.
Shiv, will the 264/264 set-up have better driveability ? The Evo is my daily driver and rush hour traffic/stop n go driving will have to compromise with top end power.

Well i just wrote a whole post but lost it due to stupid server issues. but i will try and rewrite it. This is defintely i am something i am interested in so i had a few questions about it.

Vishnu questions/

1. This has been discussed in another thread, but i wanted to get the updates on the issue with making maps that work with cat deletes, also which cat delete would you recommend with the xede(also other people)

2. Why did you choose HKS over JUN cams any specific reasons? Also i am guessing it should be fine to purchase the 264/272 combo from hks since it seems that no matter what way its a good purchase.

3. Woud you see any issues with running JIC exhaust manifold with your xede.

4. This wasn't explained all the way in other threads but what does the boost map numbers represent and are they suppose to be lowered or raised to lower boost?

Other/

1. What exhausts systems, cat deletes, downpipes, exhaust manifolds have you been running with the Xede other than vishnus products? has there been any issues.

Any new updates on this? I've been following this thread and was really interested in the tuning of the cam and cam gears with the Xede. I already have the Xede and would like to get the cam and cam gears. I'd like to know what the update is on the idle, and if Shiv's been able to tune it to stock or close to it.

Shiv, just curious: why are you trying to tune the cams without degreeing them first? Or do you know for a fact that the HKS EVO cams come ground correctly to centerline? While HKS has the best reputation for quality control of all the 4g63 cam manufacturers, there have been some cases of cams being off center.

It is naive to believe that every single camshaft is perfect from the manufacturer, or that because one person's set is ground to center that they all are. The only way to be sure that they are correctly centered is to degree them. Shiv's explanation sounded like they just threw them in the car and left the cam gears at zero, and I was just curious as to whether or not he actually degreed them first.

Like I said, in many cases I've seen, HKS cams were fine but in some cases they weren't.

Hey MP5,
I've had one Beck's dark and a couple of Miller Gen Drafts so far this evening so maybe it's me, but, WTH were you trying to say in your post? I am interested in these camshafts too and I was hoping your post would shed some light on the subject.

Also, are the HKS camshafts gun drilled like the stock Mitsu ones?

No solid what I was saying is that someone degreed them but the serch function is gay and I couldnt find it- Of course you should degree every single one as well as flow test even your stock injectors- Did you do that rareson?

Oh I get it now about the search function. Are they solid because they are stronger for higher rpm limits?
