Back from Vegas and Stage 2 update
First of all, let me start off by saying that Las Vegas is bad for the mind, body and soul. Now that I'm back, I feel dirty for gambling, drinking and behaving uncharacteristically naughty
Or is it just because I have the flu and a cough from hell. Yeah, I think it's the latter
Anyway, I managed to refrain from caughing enough today to start tweaking the Stage 2 proto car. Probably 40% done as far as 91 octane mapping goes. But so far, so good. With 21-22psi of boost, it put down an easy ~300whp on our DD dyno. This is 100whp over stock with 1-2psi more boost. Haven't tried more boost yet (need to make some changes on the boost control plumbing first). Haven't even tried fiddling with the adj. timing gears either (they are still at 0 and 0 deg). I still have a couple of more days on the dyno to go before the mapping is considered close to complete. But I did drive the car home tonight and was pleasantly surprised with the drivability. Idle is stock-like and off-boost performance is unremarkable (no bogs, surges, etc,.) But power is certainly good so far. Things are going to get crazy with race gas and 30psi of boost
Just for comparison, Stage 1 cars put down 250-255whp on our dyno (on 91 oct). On AWD Dynojets (and 93 octane), they have historically put down 310-315whp. So where Stage 2 ends up is anyones guess at the moment. I'll keep everyone updated during the next few days.
Cheers,
shiv

There has to be a marketing angle in that

Shiv, I am glad to see you've come up with a solution to satisfy the dyno whiners (by posting DD and DynoJet numbers). It also makes it easier for a layman like myself to see the difference. Stage 2 sounds very potent.
BTW, do you do any non-Vishnu product consulting? I have a couple of questions...

Nice!
Sorry to hear about your cold. Just don't believe it's there and it wont be.
Question of the millenium: How is the lag with the new turbo? What rpm do you hit full boost?
(ok, yes, that was two questions. But the millenium is a long time
)
