Logistic question when tuning Xede?
Logistic question when tuning Xede?
Ok last night I did some boost tuning because it was cold out side (about freezing).
So perfect time to tune open loop boost to almost MAF cut.
Here is the thing in Xmap, I down loaded my Maps from Xede to show on my lap top. Every time I did a change a screen would pop up and ask if I would like to down load the changes to Xede. I would select yes and go for a drive. Then pull over to adjust my duty cycle and low and be hold there back to the original setting before my adjustments. Now the only way I can keep my setting is if I Burn the EPROM (spelling). I wonder if I can just do live user tuning with out always burning my settings in.
Is this possible?
How many times can the EPROM be burned?
Thanks
Eric

Live user tuning would be a great option Keep the car on tune and then burn before sutting it off.

Shiv says you can burn the eeprom as many times as you want
So no need for that live user I prefer it this way (the extra step) because I know its implimented and less prone to make an error than with instant or errant changes

That's great to hear you can zap the EPROM as much as you like

I have a Wide band O2, knock phones and My buddy is doing the driving today also a select monitor to watch ing advance.
I will be trying some new road dyno software the links into the wide band and picks up a RPM feed.
And Armed to the teeth with PBA cards just in case the man wants to see what we are doing.

yea its hard road tuning by yourself.. especially with no RPM input to log your damn afrs... I always want a co-pilot but can never get any of my friends to come with... I still wonder why..

ok did some tuning last night and the car fells awsome. If you are doing road tuning with wide band don't go to lean. On the base maps start with ing. advance in small steps. thats were the power is on pump gas.
You guys with stage 1+ have alot of room for Ing. Advance.
Happy Turkey day!
