boost line pill question

What happens if you run the xede without removing the boost line brass pill? I was told it wouldn't run right, but I am curious about how exactly it would affect the xede. Does it just lower the maximum boost?

It will run correctly to my knowledge, the only thing that you should notice is that you will not spool up as fast and it could cause a lower boost. The factory pill is there because the stock sylinoid can't operate fast enough to keep up with the spikes so it causes the wastegate to open up before the stock sylinoid takes control instead of like a EBC does, an EBC or Exede takes total control of the wastegate to maximize power and spool up.

Sure and HP in favorable weather. Any reason you just dont adjust the boost duty cycle a percent or so? This is the beauty of a powerful user adjustable EM.

I feel like I have the ultimate setup and would recommend it to anyone ready to drop the xtra cash. First, get broadband: I prefer cable modems but dsl is also great. Get a laptop with wireless capabilities and then get a wireless transmitter ($50) and plug it into your cable external modem. BAM! It freakin' rocks. My wife would have never got me this laptop for my B-day if she knew I would get hooked on Evo/car stuff. I can take my laptop anywhere around the house and the garage and be completely wireless and have high speed internet access at the same time. I'm still waiting on my Xede 'n stuff but I predict at some point in the near future, I'll be in my garage with this laptop plugged in to my Xede and I'll be PMing Mp5, Brett, Kartboy, etc. as I play around with different maps and combinations. The problem is that if you don't already have a setup similar to this you will probably not want to drop all the cash on a computer when you could buy something that bolts on to your car...... However, I think the laptop is a very important tool.

What I really need are REAL tools: torque wrench, sockets, etc. Hey toolheads, are the 400+ peice mechanics toolkits at Sears a good approach to a well stocked garage?

Back to the restrictor pill questions. Is Vishnu the only tuner that recommends the removal of the pill? If removing it causes fluctuations in boost, as Al claims, is there an easy fix for such an issue? How 'bout a stainless steel line to replace the rubber?

Al is spouting B.S to sell his product. We do not see fluctuations in boost control with the pill removed and our XEDE. We will be posting up our nex Stage 2 numbers next week with a boost curve so that everyone can see what a 25 psi line looks like with the XEDE controlling boost. Don't beleive what Al says on this board about our products as he has positively no clue about the XEDE and what it can and can't do.

Agreed Brett you know how much of a techie freak I am and how I am completely happy with the power and control the XEDE gives on these cars! Hype is hype people if you want a tuner that tunes your car by the seat of his pants fine! If you want a tuner that has logged hundreds of hours on the dyno and track with banks of data the the XEDE is what you want.

Smogrunner I would check out www.harborfreight.com to start your essential tool collection for little coin. You will upgrade someday but I only have money in my ratchets and a few select standard and deep sockets that are commonly used. Greatneck from autozone has a just fine torque wrentch for less than 25 bucks
