Service Engine Soon Light

Well I was going to work this AM and it's about 35 out and I was WOT in 4th going around a turn and got to about 100-110ish, the I look and see the SES light. I have no idea about this because I reset the batt 2 days ago and got no light yesterday and I drove it a lot. I was reading some people were saying it was fuel cut. I am getting 22-23 pound spikes in 4th so anyone think that maybe it?

Cold there? You might need to take .5 psi out of the boost (unknown) map

That's what I was thinking big pimp. I will call you later on to get your help so I don't blow my **** up. On the way home I am going to get it scanned to see what the code is.

I think you would know if you hit the fuel cut. The car should have let out a pop sound.

It's been in the 20's here. I haven't had any issues with fuel cut or SES until yesterday. I'm running the complete Stage 1 setup. The idle was jumping up to 1,500 for no apparent reason. After it happened a couple times, I noticed the SES light was on. The car wasn't producing any boost when it happened.

The XEDE doesn't seem to do well in cold weather. I'm thinking about going back to the stock program temporarily.

Also I did change the cells like shiv posted that help with the idle and it seems to get worse, also from 5k-redline the power is not as smooth as it was. I am going to reload the stage-subzero map and see if that helps.

There seems to be more and more people posting about XEDE problems lately. As a person considering to buy the XEDE, I'm definitely concerned about these problems ie car cannot idle in the cold and hits fuel cut, clicking noises whenever you hit boost, and now someone posts about getting an SES light for no apparent reason. Are these problems being addressed? One more thing, I was reading the XEDE installation instructions, and saw that you have to pull a wire from the ECU plug. Why not integrate that wire in the XEDE plugin harness? kinda defeats the purpose of plug n play if you have to pull out a wire.

Hmm maybe the xede isnt for you. I have no probs but I admit it requires a level of understanding of EM. Its very very simple yet some people just arent up to it. So You might want to give Vishnu a call and see if the XFlash fits your needs

Hmm maybe you didn't read my post. What does what I wrote have anything to do with understanding EM? Are you saying that it's normal for XEDE equipped cars to do things like not idle and trigger CELs?

I think it's all a matter of tuning. shiv, how about posting more maps (including a cold-weather map and stage 1+cams) and updating the website.

Please dont get defensive it isnt to knock you. Im saying that people that think they are going to pnp the xede and not touch a thing might want to look into other options. Also those that want the knock enhancement abilities and the ability to get the most out of the car safetly need to be able to understand how dramatic temp fluctuations effect boost and need to have the ability to adjust it properly. If you want a powerful tool like the xede that has the ability to run more boost (read between the line the "reflash" options dont and that turns those guys into timing monkeys) If you want to run the stock boost curve with the xede you can also.

XEDE is meant to be a plug and play when you mod according to the Vishnu stages. It's not advertised as requiring EM knowledge to use it. Having said that, I'm don't mind tweaking it to fix these problems as long as there are fixes for these problems.

Your CEL problem sounds like a misfire and the usual suggestion is to regap your spark plugs (search this forum for "spark plugs" to get the right gap).

I am going to go pull the code in a few min. What do I need to do with the plugs? Also how do those plugs you sell work? I may need them next day.
