Really depends on the climate. We use 10w-30 on our car.

What brand/type? Castrol? Mobil? Penzoil? Doesn't matter?

Doesn't really matter just as long as you break it in properly. FWIW, I used Castrol during my break-in. After break-in, I use nothing but Redline synthetic.

I dumped the factory fill upon taking delivery. I used Valvoline 10W-30, still using it infact at 4k miles. Will probably make the switch over to synthetic on the next change. What I noticed as the miles have accumulated is reduced oil consumption over time to the point that it's non existent and higher vacuum readings, a sign of a nice tight motor. When the motor was new vacuum was at 18in., now it's at 20in. I broke the car in the canyons and mountains of SoCal., Angeles and Los Padres National Forest, Mulholland, Yerba, Tuna, Latigo, Lake Hughes, etc....

I also keep tabs of oil temps and pressure and have not seen anything alarming. All within spec. But with regards to dinojuice I haven't seen anything over 220deg. F., which i'm totally comfortable with for dinojuice.
