Firmware update and custom tuned maps
Hi guys,
We've gotten a lot of questions regarding the new firmware update (which changes the XEDE's MAF scaling) and whether the maps which have been custom tuned will still be appropriate to run.
At this stage, the answer is no. However, we are trying to arrive at new MAF scaling logic that will allow us simply to apply an arithmetic function to your existing custom tuned MAF/fuel table to convert it over to a new firmware friendly map. All that should be necessary is to use your mouse/cursor to select the entire MAF table and apply a global arithmetic function (ie. scale it down by 40%). Takes about 10 seconds once you have XMap up and running.
We've custom tuned way too many cars to make the custom maps obsolete with the new firmware. So hang tight. No one will be left out of the party

You posted something yesterday about smoothing out cam idle using firmware. I'm about to install a 264/272 combo for the Jan 31 dyno day. I'll be getting XEDEflash and a retune for my Stage 1+. If the firmware results in a "slight" lump at idle with the 272's, I'd rather go with the 272/272 combo. I was actually looking forward to a more aggressive sounding idle from the cams. Plus, I'd like the additional 10hp or so from the 272 intake.
Is it ok to go with the 272/272 combo for Stage1+? I'm also upgrading to the 255lhp fuel pump.
