Basically why does Buschurs Stage 4 have the 660's in it, whereas all the Xede Stage 1+ users are running the stockers? Shiv - what is the duty cycle looking like on these cars?
It's about tuning philosophies...
...Dave (Buschur) seems to be more pragmatic, more hardware-oriented. He seems to have this "bottom-top" approach, were he disects things/parts, and the starts a build-out process.
On the other hand, it seems that Shiv is embarked in a quest for the "truth" or the essence of things, with a heavy emphasis on volumetric efficiency, balance of reliability-vs-performance, optimality, etc. (being an engineer, this is basically my approach, even if he does not like the idea of the underdrive pulleys for the 4G63, though
) It is irrelevant if he is or not arrogant, how many friends/enemies, etc. as long as he is on the right track. Now, when he is wrong, he's just plain wrong, though.
I have seen Shiv looking for the actual things that really make the difference, but the caveat here is that he does spends some time sniffing for them (with his DynoDynamics gage), and he does it with certain analytical acument. This has succesfully and quantifiably pointed him to things like the adjustable camshaft sprockets (or cam gears), etc., whereas others may have passed on with no clear results
It looks to me like, if you really want to be optimal , you may not need larger injectors for Stage 1+ (probably the pump). Now, mind you that Stage 1s with test-pipe should closely match Stage 3 from Dave, and you do not even need cams in this case.
My view after a couple of months reading here, as well after purchasing and continuously using the Xede thingy.
Happy racing!

Hmm thanks for the reply. Makes sense to me I guess.
Just ordered the pump, along with sprockets and cams the other day. Already have a test pipe, so I should lay down some good #'s....
