!@#$%&* boost wire! How do you get yours out

Funny, when installing my Xede I got the boost wire out of the Ecu harness in about 3 seconds. However, today while trying to remove the Xede I couldn't get the blue Xede wire out to save my life. Swear jar is almost full. I've tried little screwdriver, straightened paper clip and even a staple to get that lil' mofugger out - no dice. Unfortunately it's not one of those things where brute force will work (my forte) and I can't for the life of me remember how I got it out so easy the first time. IIRC I needed to push the plastic retainer from the top of the hole towards the bottom to release the connector but could not duplicate what I did a ways back. So...

Somebody tell me their sure fire, 100% guaranteed methods to get that sum***** out without chewing up their ecu harness. I don't care how far fetched or stupid the technique, remember; if it's stupid, but works, it's not stupid anymore. Much obliged in advance. Oh, and yes, I did lift the little white locking bar up and yes, I was trying the correct pinhole and yes, I did a search and yes, I read the install directions on the Vishnu site and no, I have no patience for delicate ****.
