2.3 Stroker Stg 2 results

Finally got around to finishing up our customers 2.3L Stg 2 car yesterday. It ended up making 400whp at 24psi of boost with a very conservative tune. A lot still left of the table. After a few weeks of playing around, he's coming back to install a sheetmetal intake and we'll get a little more frisky with the tune. Should max the 3037 out right around 440whp. If that's not enough for Cpt. Horsepower, we'll slap on a GT35R and break some differentials

Tuned with XFlash and XEDE. Same baseline XFlash map that went in the One Lap car, in fact. Even without the XEDE (just the XFlash), the car makes 290whp at 12psi of boost

Just keep pushing that Evo envelope - we all admire you for it. How will the rest of the car hold up with that much power?

It was on C16 for safety (owner doesn't mind paying the extra $$/gallon) but it's certainly able to be supported on 94-95oct. Adding a degree of timing in yeilded 25whp

How about our pissy 91 octane? 93 is considered RACE GAS to us.

Where do you get the 93 in Florida? Our gas stations down here in Miami don't even carry that.

The 2.3 sounds really sweat. Shiv do you ever do any work down here on the east coast. Sounds promising.

Cheers

400whp impressive couple questions:

1. which storker kit did you use
2. have you started on the valvetrain
3. any plans for head work

sorry for the questions but next month I'm going to start on my new motor

I have a quesiton for you...

How does the stroker motor effect the boost response of your stage 2 setup. I've seen some dyno graphs of your stage 2 setup on a stock 2.0L motor, but a 2.3L stroker should have higher exhaust velocities and of course a higher exhaust volume. Does this improve boost response? I'd like to do a turbo upgrade someday, but I like the response of the stock setup and I don't want a "peaky" motor.

I'm not sure if mikeguava really lives in Florida. I don't think I've even seen a gas station that carries 87.

gtlimer - don't knock Citgo - $2.16/gallon for 93 ain't too bad .
