Shiv, Stall Question

Sometimes when I am at a red light, or stopped anywhere for that matter, and I pull up forward by letting out on the clutch the cars idle drops very low. The rpms drop to near 150 and feels like it almost stalls but catches itself. It seems that it only does this when the A/C is on. I thought at first it had something to do with how I was engaging the clutch, though when I was watching what I was doing, the car would still try to stall. Any ideas on this?

My car was custom tuned on May 15th with the XEDE/XEDEflash. I have Turbo-back exhaust, hi-flow cat, and drop in K&N filter.

Also, there have been two occasions when I was accelerating in 4th gear and the accel would be normal then it felt like the car would bog down (almost like the boost went away) then jump back to normal.

Seems like the hot weather is getting to my car

Is it installed the right way? No to be a jerk but I've seen it installed backwards just as often as it is installed the right way

If you have the firmware upgrade with the analog bypass feature, there should be no idle issues whatsoever since the XEDE is basically running "pass-through" at low loads. If there is still some idle instability issue, it's likely to be something else.

I get that AC on stumbling with the stock ECU w/ no Xede on hot days. Only happens maybe once a week and it only acts like its going to stall for a second or so.

yeah, I'm not sure... My BOV is right I'm sure becasue my car boosts correctly, I get no strange effects. I do have the latest firmware on my XEDE with the pass through set to 5%. I guess its just something these cars do.

Shiv, is there a chance that the car is running more than 5% load with the A/C on and when pulling forward a little?

The firmware greatly improves the idle smoothness, but not the stall issue when the A/C is on. The stall issue with AC on is present even in stock evos, but it is even worse than stock with my 1+ when the AC is on. I have been tinkering with the idea of putting my stock BOV back on for the summer, but I don't know if that will solve my problem, or just make it less severe.

Shiv, is it possible for you to hack into the ecu code and adjust the AC compensation settings for future flashes or for Xede updates???

Wick up the BISS just a tiny bit to compensate if you're getting stalling, guys. Its not worth all this stress. My car did this sometimes before I installed any of the Vishnu parts; Its just an Evo thing. I raised the idle about 200rpm late last summer, and it hasn't stalled since.

I have the stage 1+ w/ 272/272 and have NEVER had it stall with the A/C on or off. I have the stock BOV and stock air box. I also have the newest firmware. I was not aware that there was a pass through adjustment now. I will have to check to see what mine is set at.

I set it all up when I update firmware. No need for users to adjust any settings yourselves. I have the analog signals bypassed when MAF is less than 5%. And launch control is set to 9000rpm (meaning it's disabled)

Shiv, its 10:30pm go home.

Good, if you set everyone at 5% then I don't need to go check what mine is set at. I haven't driven my winter beater (EVO) for a week so I really didn't feel like going to the garage to check. BTW, do you recommend any maintenance for storing my EVO away for the summer?

Thanks

How do you do this? Is there an idle screw?
