Installed xede yesterday....WOW

Lemme start by saying what a difference this thing made along with the standard TB. The car just does not stop pulling, your through first and second gear before you even realize. Then third and forth are when it really sits you back in the seat.

I was driving to work today in the rain, just rolling into it in 3rd and the car was breaking loose all over the place. The power increase up top is increadible, I cant imagine what its gonna be like with cams, gears and a custom tune.Needless to say its was money well spent. For the record, I bought the unit used from another board member for a great deal, and Shiv still gladly did all the firmware up-dating no questions asked.

Install was simple and straight foward. I thought I had pulled the wrong wire outta the ECU at first because the car was only boosting 15 PSI. Turned out it was the map that was loaded into the unit when I got it. I assume it was some kinda "safe map", because when I changed the map over to the stage 0+93 off the vishnu site it jumped up to 21 PSI with a vengence. Plus the car runs smoother than stock no hiccups or idle issues at all. The one thing I did notice, was that the boost only seems to taper to 20 PSI, even at redline. It spikes up to 21 then seems to only drop about 1 PSI. I thought I had read that its supposed to drop to about 18 with the set-up I have. Any comments on that are welcome.

Believe it or not, before I even had the Xede I had walked a couple of stock STI's, with only the T-Back exhaust. I'm looking for some Vetts now.

Now that is what I call ironic ... as I recall the previous owner wasn't happy with the performance of this particular XEDE and a change of map was all it apparently needed.

I'm getting mine installed next week .. can't wait.

That and a new boost wire that had got hacked off along the way.
Shiv was even nice enough to put the harness off his car on it for me.

Stage 0+ is like "holy ****". Stage 1+ is like "holy ****!!!"

I have not been in a stage 2 car. I imagine it is something like meeting a minor deity.
