What does the Vishnu crew think about this??

YES!! I did it again. Got your attention for another one of my stupid questions.

Yes, I have read every single thread/post on the subject of BOVs. Now I want to know what every person that has Vishnu products is using as their upgraded BOV. I am trying to decide and heard of horror stories with pretty much every valve out there. My stocker is starting to leak and I need to upgrade.

Thanks
Tony

Dejon Tool 1G BOV would be my choice of upgrade.
That said, I'm still using the stocker and am happy with the results.

I've got the Greddy type S setup by Road Race Engineering. It works great.

Once I upgrade to 1+ I'm going to go with either the RRE Greddy setup or might try out the MR one. The forge works great too, but if you're lazy like me, its a pita to adjust because you have to take it off, pull it apart and replace the spring

I had the 1g and it will give you about 2-3MORE PSI just by going to it. The thing holds boost great but it still has the damn compresser surge going on. I am going to do the MR one because that's made for the car, the 1g is not bad I just dont want to be in a turn at 7400rpm and have the damn thing surge and me go off the track, I go off enough as it is.

lambtron . . . ask shiv what he thinks of the RRE Greddy setup. He pulled one of my car last week and had a little something to say about it.

Ryan, thanks for the info on the Dejon Tool BOV and the compressor surge. I'll stop recommending it, because that sucks!

The MR BPV looks like a good alternative to the 1G that I was planning on buying. It's a good buy at about 120 bucks and will fill the evo perfectly. I am just waiting to see more reviews on it because it is so new...

Gruppe-S has a "GFB Stealth BOV" that vents back into the intake tract AND to the atmosphere. Its adjustable without taking it apart. Only thing is it's too darn expensive...

Could I ask why you think your stocker is leaking?

Yes, I know that with the XEDE you have a spike and the the XEDE holds bost around 19 to 19.5 pounds at redline. Well, mine keeps falling off. By redline it is around 13-14 psi. I think I am right when I say my BOV is leaking. Right?

yes it could be the BOV...although having chased a few problems like this myself it has never been the BOV.....In fact the stock BOV, although plastic and cheap looking, seems to be up to the job for most stage1 and 1+ applications...
1) you have an xede, correct?
2) what is the max boost you are able to achieve, even lower down the rpm range? because 19-19.5 seems a touch low IMO
3) have you only removed the pill, or are you running the updated bleed tube?
4) have you checked intercooler pipework to be tight?
5) with only this much boost pressure you are missing out on some serious power
