ECU codes ?
Does anyone have any ideas why my EVO would throw ECU codes:
DTC P0335: Crankshaft Position Sensor Circuit
DTC P0340: Camshaft Position Sensor Circuit
I was at a car wash today where they push your car through all the automatic brushes. When they pulled it out to finish the interior, the guy stalled it like twice. On the second time when he stalled it and restarted it I could see a faint puff of black smoke come from the tail pipe.
So when I got back in the car and restarted it, I noticed the CEL was on. At first I thought it was just the standard 0300 misfire code everyone gets. I went to the local NAPA and used their code scanner to pull the codes. On my way there the car ran fine. It did not act strange or make any weird noises. Afterwards, I erased the codes.
Anyway, I've talked to some of my friends around here and they think that moister got into the plugs, and caused the ECU not able to read the sensors. The car has not thrown the codes since I erased them.
Maybe the reason why the car stalled was becasue of the wet sensors?
Anything that I should check out, or be worried about?

PS: Just kidding, 99% its just the water, dude. Drive the car and see if it comes back. I bet you'll be fine.

Actually i have gotten them a couple times. My last time out to drag I did go through the car wash and got that po340 or 335 I can't remember and cleared it. Car ran strong as ever at the track and knock on wood no problemo. Noize that death code alert was great.Crank walk on an Evo would suck. never got it in the 97 gst but I must of got lucky.
Cool, I had a 97 GS-T also. Mine was silver. Luckily, it never crankwalked either. I really think crankwalk is a lot less common than the web boards let on. I got the death code joke from my last car, which was a WRX. Lots of UTEC guys would get a flashing misfire CEL and we'd call it the EJ20 death code. No UTEC for me, needless to say.
