Which Mods should I do next...Help!!

Ok, I have a Helix 3"DP, Invidia 3" catback and a k&n drop in filter. I am looking to add some new mods soon, but I dont know what do go with. I know I definitely need some type of flash and I also wanted to add cams. Anyone have any suggestions. Im pretty much at a dead end on deciding what I want to do. Whatever I decide, I want to add the flash/xede and cams and possibly anything else at the same time.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Alarm system

What is a really good alarm system to get? I have an Evo VIII and people like to be stupid and immature, so I was looking for an alarm system that lets me know when someone even touches it or something, like a vibrating alarm thing..or something like that.

Noize...What do you think about adding cams? Maybe cams and cam gears? Like I siad I definitely need something to get me to hold boost to redline and increasing the rev limit a bit wouldnt be bad as well.

As for some of the other replies...I will most likely add a boost gauge as well, but the MBC,SAFC stuff sorry, that stuff will never touch my car. I have had stuff like that in other cars and I dont think its worth it IMO, and I have never liked a MBC.

stealthy...You may be asking in the wrong places...Call some local stereo shops. All of them should carry some type of alarm with paging. They are not cheap expect anywhere from $4-500 and up.

Very wierd replies from the first few!

Noize had it perfect. If you go with the cams you are at $700 more in parts alone because you will also be smart to add a fuel pump. With the Xede and cam gears you are at $1200 or 1300 bucks. But you will be laying down at least 12.6/109-111mph.

That is fine with me $12-1300 isnt bad at all, I'll even pay more if I have to for additional parts. Are you saying with the Xede alone and gears I would be at 12.6 est? Or with the cams as well? I know for sure im doing some type of flash/xede, cams, fuel pump and then I just have to decide what else, unless im persudaded to not do cams.

BTW...I love your avatar smogrunner...They better win tonight though.

With the stage 1 signature and NOTHING else, I ran a 12.6/111 and a fellow in Texas ran a 12.4 and 112 mph that was with a CAT in.

With cams, added to this and nothing else beyond Stage 1 (We call it a Stage 1+) two us us have run 12.1, and two of us have run a 12.2. All of these times were at either 113 or 114mph.

Wow, very nice. I havent been reading too much into the Xede and some of these other flashes (been putting lots of money into the S2K) But that sounds like something I want. Really I would like a mid to low 12 sec daily driver that will be reliable.

So you recommend going this route...Xede, Cams, Gears, Fuel Pump?

Have you had any probs with your car? This is my daily driver so I'd like to keep it reliable Thanks for your help

Also, the cams give a big power feel in the midrange, where just the Stage 1 thrives on high-end finese. That is why the stage 1s do so good at drag racing: There top end is great.

Do the cam effect spool up? How is the drivabilty with the cams?

With cams, you get more power at earlier rpms. The drivability is pretty much just as good as stage 1s, but is a weeeee bit rougher. Here, take a look at my dyno pulls with the stage 1 followed by my dynoed Stage 1+ (done a few months later):

As you can see, 91 vs. 91 octane torque is 220 at 4000rpm on the Stage 1 vs. 245 at 3700rpm on the 1+. That advantage has a very big "feel" when it hits compared to the stage 1. The 1+ also makes about 35 more peak horspower than the Stage 1 when running race gas.

If you got the cash, this is what I'd do: Go for the whole stage 1+ with the following extra parts: Walbro 255 fuel pump. Most of us with the 1+ also get new blow off valves as well. I've got the Greddy type S, but there are others to choose from. I don't know how mechanically inclined you are but I'd have the cams and cam gears intalled by a professional. When you get to that point, we can help you find a local shop to do it.

Nice dyno #'s Well I most likely will go with the Xede, Cams, Fuel Pump and Cam Gears. Vishnu is only a little over an hour away so thats cool for me. Does Vishnu do installs on cams etc? If so I will just take my acr there and let them do everything at once.

How often do you run race gas? I dont plan on running any most of the time, around here its pretty hard to find. If I could get some decent #'s with 91 I would be very happy
