Question Valet Mode Map?

Shiv,

Any chance of you constructing a low boost mode for our cars? It would be nice to have a secondary map to switch to that kills the performance of the car. This would be useful for Valet and for friends/family that you don't want hot-rodding around in your car. I know that the rev limit can't be increased with the XEDE, but can you lower it? 4k RPM cap with no boost should be enough for somebody to get around town and park the car.

Got to your boost tables and set all the values to zero. Make sure you save your current maps before doing this. Then upload it to the second map bank (wires together).

That will yield a 11-13 psi map. Also, if you have the newest firmware you could use the launch control set at 3000 rpm. It will act like a second rev limiter, but this requires your laptop in order to turn this feature on or off.

Hehe, I just asked that very same question in the XEDEusers group.

No way to make that part of a map, huh?

If you want to severely limit power above, say 3000rpm, all you need to do is to pull back tons of fuel and a lot of timing. Above 3000rpm, just put in -10 degrees and -30% fuel. Try it... you're car will not want to rev above 3000rpm. It will suck

(frakenstein voice) Rise thread and live!

Wouldn't setting the whole upper half of the MAF table to -100 effectively create and artifical fuel cut?

Absolutely, but we limit the adjustment range to +/- 30% in most maps. This can be change, of course
