No Boost

Guys installed my Xede this weekend, and I followed the online install to the Tee. I had no problems or questions straight forward, and good illustrations off the Vishnu website. My problem is I can get the car to boost over 12 PSI. I have the stage zero + 93 map loaded the Xede and is working and operating like it should, that is checking the dummy lights and when logged into with the laptop everything seems to be in order. I went over the install as far as checking the boost wire you take out of the harness and pluggin it into the Xede to maybe see if it had a bad connection but there wasn't. Pill is out of the boost line. Any help or comments are welcome.

Thanks.

Is the pill on the compressor side still in place from the OEM hose? Without that, you'll be limited to 12psi. You need to use that OE piece on the compressor side of the T-fitting.

12 psi max -

is exactly what happens when the boost wire is not connected properly.

The relay clicks at startup, and boost line pill is out. I also double checked the connection on the removed factory boost wire to make sure I got a good connection to the Xede, but still no luck. I'll retrace my steps again, and let you know. Thanks for the input.

I know you said the map is loaded...to be sure download map from internet again and install it making sure you go through the "burn eprom" part of the walkthrough...also check map bank switch wires are not connected or touching...is the status light green on top of the xede when car is running?

Another thing to look at:
Did you ever run an MBC or another form of boost control? If so, it's possible that the boost lines between the turbo and the wastegate actuator are reversed or have been replaced with regular hose. The original boost line set up should have have another metal restrictor pill in the hose between the "T" and the compressot outlet of the turbo. If it's not there, you will only get 12psi of boost. Happens all the times on WRXs because MBCs tend to be many peoples first mod.

Also, if you want to test to see if your boost control solenoid is working, just let your car idle and put "50" in all the cells in your boost map. This should make the boost solenoid pulse at 50% duty cycle. If you touch it, you should be able to feel it ticking. Just make sure your car is running when you do this since that is the only time the XEDE powers it.

Hope that also helps,
Shiv

I was trying to say that above too, but your instructions are much more descriptive than mine.

Shiv & Noize,

Thanks for the great input. You hit the nail on the head, my problem is the second pill below the T. So the second pill is between the turbo and the T. I had Greddy Profec B Spec II on the car before, I just replaced the factory lines with new hoses. I just ordered the factory lines again $30 dollar Boo boo for not keeping the stock ones. Live and learn. Thanks for the help, this forum rocks. I've never been a part of anything like this. Almost any question or problem you have there is someone who is willing to help you, or has experinced the same situation and knows the answer.

Guys replaced the vaccume lines with brand new factory lines, minus the small boost pill at the boost solonoid, and the car is dead on. Good advice. The Xede is sick fun and loving it. Next go round in Houston I want Shiv to do the X-FLash and a little of his fine tuning magic. Till then, I'll just keep adding to the sickness. Thanks again for the advice.

Noize, my buddy Chris Wickman from Lafayette met you and Shiv for the Houston Dyno Day. He had good things to say about both. Look forwarding to catching you guys next go round.
