Question Question for Vishnu Crew

Do you guys know of anyone that is good at installing cam gears on Evo's? Also I need to put a downpipe on my car. I don't want to get ripped off, and the mechanic I know won't know how to tune the cam gear properly. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Gnulooks will do it for $140.00. He is in Menifee, CA. He is not a mechanic, so buyer beware. But he did his own and they are perfect. He has a Vishnu stage 1 that runs perfectly. He is my friend and I would be happy to help out if needed. Let me know.

Is that for the install of both the downpipe and the cam gear. Shiv told me his mechanic can do it in an hour, and for like $70 as I recall.

I paid 200.00 for my cam gear install and they screwed the job up. Gnulooks can't work nearly as fast as as a pro, so you get a higher price AND less competence than the Vishnu mechanic. Lame, but true. The Vishnu guys can do their own installs in their sleep. However, I honestly believe he will do them right. The downpipe would be extra. They are super easy to do though, probably around $40 more bucks. Do you already know how to load your new map into your xede once you are finished?

No, not at all. That sounds fair. I have a helix downpipe to have installed. I think it's suppose to be easy to install. So roughly $180 total? Also this guy isn't gonna right me a ticket afterwards, is he???

Oh, I mean not at all in regards to the program. If you could help me out with it, it would be cool. Thanks for the reply btw. This job would have to be done on the weekend.

I could load the proper map for you no problem (free). Gnulooks just bought his 272 cams and is trying to recoup the cost and make a little extra cash to get a BOV and fuel pump.

Will that downpipe fit directly to your cat/test pipe?

I believe so, but i'm not sure. They said it requires no fabricating or whatever. It's suppose to be one of the better ones on the market. Where is Gnulooks around?

I'm still waiting on the cam gear. If I order one it will be sometime towards the end of the month.

Denom, send me a PM if you want to throw on the cam gears and down pipe. Just let me know when you get your stuff in the mail and we can set something up for a Saturday. Also, what kind of exhaust are you currently running because you said that you had a non Vishnu down pipe?

Gnulooks...

Well i'm gonna have the downpipe installed tomorrow most likely (I plan on going to California Speedway Saturday). I'll order the cam gears sometime next month. What cam gears do you know how to tune? Thanks for the help.

Unfortunately, the only cam gear I have experience with is the Vishnu one. If you are running a stage 1 such as a turbo back exhaust, Exede, and cam gears then it would have to be set to a -5 setting. A stage 1+, which has the cam shafts would be, I believe, a -3 setting. The cool thing about ordering from Vishnu is that they will preset your cams to whatever mods you have. Just ask them and you shall recieve.
