Fuel pump relay?
Fuel pump relay?
Hi guys,
When upgrading to the Walbro 255, did you all change the relay? The 255 operates the same voltage as the OEM stock pump? Coz if the full voltage coming in at 70% or more for the stock fuel pump to let it pump the amount of volume of fuel will the relay voltage be sufficient for the 255 fuel pump?
Need advise...
Thanks....

That used to be the case on the DSM's....not sure it is the same for the evo....I have not heard of one instance that the FP wiring was found to be weak on an 03 Evo here in the states...
I was curious myself. I've seen the kits for sale in Japan for the VIII but was guessing it wasn't really needed or just another way the guys to make you drop extra cash !! Write claimed to help raise voltage
Any body can assist in this question? Coz im gona fix the 255 tis wkend....

How much hp do you want to make?
I don't think the Walbro will be the weak link until you get over 500 hp, maybe more. If you are worried about the voltage, measure it before you start messing with wiring.
Voltage improves volume, but you shouldn't be close to maxing out the pump unless you make crazy power.
It's the standard fp upgrade for the evo. The only drawback is you can hear it whine slightly at idel.
If you have questions about flow rates, RC injector's website has some good data. The might help with your concerns. http://www.rceng.com/index.htm

450 max at the engine....so guess it will be sufficient for the 255 fuel pump...
