FQ400 vs Stage 3 Vishnu?

There's some posted numbers on the very limited edition FQ400 to be released in UK (my home country but I live in the US now), 400bhp and near 360+?TRQ, 3.6 secs 0-60 and 9 secs 1/4 mile, I've no idea if those numbers are correct whatsoever, but for comparison sake ... will the Stage 3 Vishnu post better times? Especially the 1/4 trap? As your estimates on website and where you've posted opinions in forums are vague to say the the very least...

And finally if 400bhp EVO and very likely less whp car can do 9 secs 1/4 traps, why is it I see many mentions of cars stating 400-500whp struggling to post consistent 9 secs 1/4 traps? Am I missing some new engeering marvel that's crept into the new EVO MR that when transformed into FQ400 performs better that USDM EVO 8 Modded to similar spec.?

In addition why are there no prices posted for Stage2/Stage3, I've previously made a request before my last post for Stage2 price and didn't get any response. Do you want a sale or not?!?

[I'm by no means a mechanic or an engineer, just a lowly system administrator so if I've screwed up in my explanation in anyway - feel free to correct me]

Relax a bit. Give them more than 32 minutes to respond to your post.

As for a 400bhp evo going 9's.. thats not gonna happen

Okay, I understand, but I'd sent them an email a month ago then posted something a while back, maybe a few weeks also asking about pricing and didn't get anything back. That's all, no biggy.

A well driven stage 1+ on 100 octane goes 0-60 in 3.6 seconds, so it should be foregone that a stage 3 could.

As stated, a 9 second quarter mile is not the province of a 400bhp car (unless it weighs 2000lbs).

9 seconds doesn't seem right ... even the AMS Evo, which puts down just under 700whp only goes mid 10's in the 1/4 mile...

i could see 9 sec in 1/8th mile. that would be more indicative of the cars performance. 3.6 0-60 would at best be a mid 11 to low 12 assuming a good driver. also we're not talking 400 WHEEL hp which is way more inmpressive & still cheaper than the FQ 400 which based on the currency conversion would be over $86k!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep.. the FW400 does not run a 9 sec 1/4 mile. Either you read it wrong or it was a gross misprint. It should be about as quick as a Stg 1+ running 100oct. Or a Stage 2 or 3 car on pump gas.

Hey man sorry about that, we've been busy here all day so I hadn't gotten a chance to check the forums again. Stage 3 from completely stock will cost you in the ballpark of 8000 before shipping. That price includes the following:

Signature series exhaust with custom downpipe for Garrett turbo
Cam Gears
HKS Cams (your choice on duration)
Xede computer
XedeFlash(to scale ecu for bigger injectors, eliminate boost cut, etc.)
PE 660 Fuel Injectors
321 Steel Tubular Manifold
TIAL 38mm external wastegate
Garrett ballistic series turbo (Your choice of 3037 or 35r)
Lower IC pipe
Hard intake pipe (to match up to bigger turbo...uses factory airbox)
All lines and fittings needed(oil, coolant, etc.)

They said that it was quicker 0-60 which isn't surprising considering they were comparing 2wd to awd.

Thanks for the pricing, it really helps me make a decision one way or another and to save up . I'll very likely take a miss on MR, it's good but not worth the loss on a swap for VIII, nor the asking price for options included although that's hottly debated I know. What's stopping me is IX and MiVEC 2.0, will it be as good as current 2.0? Will it be as strong to take the extra mods ... I think everyone will hope so, but being first generation EVO MiVEC it may not be as good we shall see ... still I'm gonna probably wait until March/April check out JDM IX and then either wait a bit longer and do a swap when it arrives here or keep the VIII and get Shiv and boys to mod the hell out of it!

If you can win me over now, give it a go, otherwise its a waiting game.

Keep up the good work!

Excluding install and clutch, correct?

Is the manifold still custom installed at Vishnu, or is it now a shipable unit?

Do you think the 6 pot Alcon's on FQ400 really all that necessary? Aren't the current the all round Brembo's not rated much beyond the current EVO spec.? Just makes me think, although seems like a little overkill to me, still the stopping power of the car must be an awesome sight.

Shiv, with power hike on Stage3 kit, are you guys thinking of further engine strenghen mods to increase reliability/durability? i.e. Studs, Rods, Gasket, etc...

I'm sure will all the extra power on tap, the clutch wll go bye bye very quickly ... I see a lot of people say the twin exedy is great - any alternative's that don't cost as much?

Do you have whp/trq curve's ready on the Stage3 kit yet?

We have a few graphs from the shop car in stage 3 form. So far I haven't found a clutch that works as good or better than the Exedy/Cusco clutch that doesn't require a huge left leg. As for strengthening goes, we've just done headstuds and rodbolts to strengthen the motor so we can run sustained high amounts of boost
