Jacky,
Which Part Of The Console Has To Be Trimmed? Is It The Ralliart Shift Console Itself Or Is It The Stock Plastic Oem Bottom Piece That The Ralliart Piece Sits On Top Of? Do You Think The Jdm Oem Bottom Piece Would Fit In The Usdm Car Because I Know That The Ralliart Part Would Attach To That Without A Problem But Am Not Sure Whether The Jdm Stock Piece Would Fit Left Hand Drive Car. Would Think It Would Fit And If You Got Both Pieces Would Not Have To Modify Anything.

I'd really like to get one, but I kind of want to see it installed on someone's car first. When it comes to having to modify accessories, I always end up screwing something up.

Doesn't fit the way it's supposed to. It's a RHD piece and the console is not perfectly symetrical...it angles sharper to the passenger side. That little bit of difference caused me hours of dremmel work and customization yet the damn thing still doesn't sit flush. I'm going to go back in and hold it down with zip ties.

I'm gonna disconnect my shifter and order one of those so I can use it as a cupholder for my Big Gulp's!

Mine sits pretty flush. I'll post pics tonight for you. Updated with side pic.

Depending on what all is involved I may order this too. Holding off till I see how much modification is required.

'tis a royal PITA. Installing a RHD cover on a LHD console is not easy. The two panels (OEM vs. Ralliart) are not exact duplicates of each other.

Can you give some specifics of what is involved ???? What is a "Royal PITA" to some may be routine modification for someone else.

Thanks

When they say "shaved down" they mean, almost completely gutted! It is a great product, but you do have to modify the stock console to fit.

You'll need a dremmel to clean out the places where it rubs on something inside of the console. It's all plastic. Then you'll need some wires spips to cut off all the teeth on the base off the new cover. The gap pattern on the stock console doesn't match the teeth pattern on the Ralliart Piece. After you've done that get a grinder or some 60 grit sand paper. When you try to put the cover on for the first time note which edges on the Ralliart console are preventing it from sitting flush. Sand accordingly. Put back in place. Measure. Remove. Repeat.
