No one answered the original question!! Where can you buy the kits from. I know AMS and Bushur has a kit, but anyone else sale them?

 

NoLimits sells them as well, I just finished up a GB for them as well.

 

can anyone report on the home depot denatured alcohol and its effectivness..

 

It will get paint off the paintbrush, but my wife has trouble getting the paint off her nails with it!

Go to www.vpracingfuels.com and ask where the nearest distributor of VP fuels is, and they will tell you, you can get a 55 gal drum or more CHEAP! less impurites. I get it by the 5 gallons, and it will last for a long time. Good luck.

The denatured alcohol from home depot is 100% denatured alcohol. I have seen many people using this same stuff.

I have no vp racing distributors in my location, that is why I went this route with the hd denatured alcohol..

 

Have you called them? usually some podunk place will carry it! give them your zip code, and they will give you the closest distributor to that zip, usually a speedshop or race "team"/garage will carry it. I think 3.25 X 5gal. not cheap, but will last longer than dumping race gas in the car. Go somewhere and buy 10 gallons, that will last you a while! trust me. I havent heard anyone using denatured alky, either H2O or meth is the way to go.

 

thats weird because both al and dave buschur both have commented on using denatured alcohol..

meth is more combustable than denatured alcohol, but could also cause corrosion issues..

Just check some of the Buick forums, they have been running denatured alcohol for MANY years with significant success..

 

wow, I will take your word on that, never heard about the corrosion issues, the Buick boys have been at it a while. I can't help you on this one then. I thought Al/Bushur/Vishnu/AMS use 100% meth in their cars, but I could be wrong about Bushur.

 

Al of Dynoflash recommends 100% meth. Beside, denatured alcohol from Home Depot is way too expensive.

 

I am not saying that either one of them use alky in their cars, because I do not know 100%. I have read several times that Al has said that he is using alky, but that may be different than what he is actually using right now.

The alky from home depot is expensive, but if it is your only reliable source then its better than nothing...
